Been to hospital for fertility test results today. I am fine but OH has antisperm antibodies further to vas reversal. Nurse told us thats it cant conceive naturally and need to have ICSI treatment for any chance. Thing is we would have to fund ourselves as OH has two children with ex partner and it will cost about 5-6 grand for one try. We just dont have the money.

I dont know what to think - is all hope gone then - can we honestly never expect to conceive naturally.

Hoping someone on here can help pretty please:cry:

Hi Miraclewanted

Sorry to hear your news :hugs: We have anti sperm anti bodies too, we were absolutely gutted when we first found out. DH and I do not have any children so we were lucky to get one free go on the NHS which sadly didn't work and now we're having a privately funded ICSI cycle which has cost us just under £5000 so far eeek!

Have you heard of egg sharing? Many clinics offer this and it really cuts the cost of the treatment - might be worth looking into ?

As regards to natural conception - our fertility specialist told us 'never say never' although we know it will be very unlikely and time is not on our side.

Wishing you lots of luck and all the best :hugs:

aw hun :hugs: i'm so sorry for your pain x x x

i think miss monty's post is really useful hun, i'm sorry i don't have anything else to add x x x x

My OH and I are in the same boat, he has sperm antibodies. We are just about to do IVF, a self funded cycle but we're on the NHS waiting list but it's ages long.

We were told IVF was our option but whilst waiting for ivf we tried two IUI's which didn't work.

I have heard of women getting pregnant with their partners having sperm antibodies. One on here now after failed IVF attempts is pregnant with her first. The other did get a :bfp: but it wasn't meant to be.

I've heard of people speaking how much the sperm is covered by antibodies but our FS never gave us any info about that, or I can't remember anyway. I'll maybe find out more at our appt on 28th October, next Friday.

So it could happen naturally but....

I hope you can find the money to do a private funded cycle. All the luck in the world :hugs:

My FS has said the antibodies don't make much difference to your chances - he was totally not bothered by them. Also I have been pregnant twice naturally (although I had MCs) also we had IVF and ICSI and although they weren't sucessful we had a high fertilisation rate. So I wouldn't give up hope just yet!

Never say never!!! It only takes one sperm and one egg. Yes IVF always help your chances but don't give up!!!! I know it's expensive and I think someone mentioned it on the tread already but you can always share your eggs and maybe they will cut down on the cost. If not I believe that when youu have a goal in mind you cando anything!!!! I know that if we are going to have to go that route we are going to look at taking a part-time or my DH know how to put ceramic tiles & we can find a couple of jobs that was as well. But the important thing is to never give up & have faith!!! Because mircacles do happen!!!!!
