Anyone know if it would be a bad idea or dangerous for me to go to a rock concert? Of course I would stay near the back far from the speakers and the crowd. But these kinds of concerts are in smaller venues so it will still be quite loud regardless.

Its my hubby and I's favorite band and they almost never come near us on tour. What do you ladies think?

The loudness probably isn't the problem. I would be more worried about the crowd and people bashing into bump.

Yeah I'd be really worried about the crowd (I went to a concert a month ago and was sitting in the bar; had to wait an hour to get out because the crowd was just too thick). The music isn't really a problem because as you said you will be away from the speakers.

If you do go, make sure everyone standing around you knows you are pregnant and if they get pushy do not be afraid to push them away and tell them to watch it! Also will you be able to sit down? I hate to think of you poor legs if you have to stand up for an hour or more.

I'm going to a Rihanna concert @ 39+2 wks all being well! Its seated at the O2 and last time I went there was no pushing or shoving at all, the place is so big, theres so many different doors to go out of so I would say it depends on the venue really and whether you plan to sit/stand?x

i was front row for roger walters concert and was fine,,id be worried more about the crowds if its a small venue

Depends on the venue.....

The music will be fine - no matter how long.

I would be making sure I had somewhere to sit down should I need a seat, and even just hang out around the bar or at the back of the arena should be fine. And leave before the crowds start to go out at the end. Go to the loo before the break etc to beat the crowds.

Dont miss out just because you are pregnant.:flower:

some venues dont allow heavily pregnant women in so u will have to find out 1st also when i went to a heavy metal gig last pregnancy at 38weeks i just made sure i stayed well back from the mosh pit lol n made sure i left either before or after it ended so i wudnt get caught in the crowd... get in with it all and jump about a bit haha mite bring on labour lol

With my first pregnancy, I went to see Opeth at 36 weeks, completely fine, even thought he crowd were one of the worst I'd been to, try avoided me well, then Iron Maiden the next week or so, that was completely fine too, but that Was seated, so didnt enjoy it much, and also went to see Deftones and American Head Charge and Soil, ivreally struggled with Deftones, I think it was the vibrations, I had to leave :( was really faint and panicking...gutted! So all of them gigs are pretty heavy rock, and it was only the last one i struggled with, as for the venue not letting you in, hey shouldn't be able to stop you, I they tried with me, I'd tell them to get stuffed! I went to a gig about two weeks ago, a heavy punk gig, that wasn't a problem either for me, I'd say go for it, if you struggle, you can always leave but it's worth a go isn't it.x

Im going to a Motorhead concert in November lol with my bf, he's brought seating tickets so Im not in the crowd, just worried that it will be too loud in there x

Personally I wouldn't being close to the end Of pregnancy.

You wouldn't take a new born to a concert my that's just me x

You'll be fine. I've been to loads of rock and metal concerts during this pregnancy and even a heavy metal festival.

Just look after yourself and stand back from the crowds. Alot of venues will let heavily pregnant women use the disabled platforms, it's worth an ask when you get there :)

Who are you going to see? Enjoy!

My aunt went to a Marilyn Manson gig in Belgium when she was 7 and a half months and it was standing and her and baby were fine. guess is just depends on how you feel, I know she had a tiny bump I think she stayed near the back.

Enjoy it, who knows when you will be able to go to another one! I am going to see BlackStoneCherry/Alterbridge a month before am due, I have a standing ticket and can't wait! Am just planning on staying towards the back so I hopefully avoid being bumped around too much :)

Go! Stand at the back or someplace 'quiet' or sit if you can and you'll be grand! I've been to a few of my husband's dnb/dubby/techno gigs and they're great fun. Have noooo rhythm at all anymore though :haha:

I've been to a concert where we sat on the 3rd row, and I go to football games quite often as well. Baby just squirms around and kicks to the music. I think it's fine

I just went to watch Brand New a couple of weeks ago (I was almost 35 weeks). It was okayed by my doctor.
I stayed away from the crowd (even though they weren't very rowdy anyways) and it was obviously loud but I wasn't near any speakers. The very worst part for me was how hot it was from all those people being in such a small area and the standing. I had to take breaks every 15 minutes or so and sit down on the floor because my feet and back ached so bad and I made sure to drink tons of water to help with the heat.
I'm sure you'll be fine, just be careful :)
