Hi all I'm new to this forum and have quite a long story to tell.
I am 24 and I have a 4 year old daughter from a previous relationship, I have now been with my current boyfriend a year and a half and at the beginning of this year we decided we wanted to try for a baby of our own, my partner is 34 and has no children but has had a previous partner pregnant around 10 years ago. So I was on the injection for around 3 months after I had my daughter, I then went onto the cerzette pill but this made me bleed erratically so I asked my doctor to put me back on the injection which I was on for 7 months up until end of march this year when I did not go back for the top up as we had decided on this. I spoke to my doctor about trying again and he said everything should be fine it may take a while for injection to wear off though. I got sti checked so did my partner all of which came back negative, but when I went back to the doctors on another occasion( im with a different doctors surgery now then i was when i was pregnant) the doctor told me that when I had my first smear 4 months after I had my daughter the nurse had done a chlamydia test which had apparently come back positive, I was bleeding quite heavily when I had this smear, I was not phoned about this positive result though. Understandably I was very shocked and upset as I was worried about how long I could have had it if I had had it and if I was going to have trouble conceiving yet I found it very peculiar how the 2 tests for chamydia done earlier this year came back negative and my current partners did also, The doctor then went on to say that an antibiotic that I had been on last year for sinus trouble could have cleared it up, but I found this really strange as I was in a relationship for 2 years after I had my daughter and surely if I had had chlamydia as the doctor is saying then I would have passed to my then partner had the infection cleared up but then passed back to me from my then partner considering I didn't know I had it if I did. Now I'm wondering if its possible i got a false positive from the test taken from my smear test as I have read heavy blood on the swab can give a false positive? Anyway me and my partner are on to month 8 of ttc I have had 2 periods so far one in September and one last week, my periods have always been irregular so it is hard to tell when it best to be trying, it's really worrying me that something is wrong with me or am I being silly? I've heard it can take up to year to be back to normal completely after the injection I really don't know what to think. Sorry for the long story
