Hi everyone,
I haven't been on her much since I was pregnant, I miss it :)
Colic/ silent reflux baby keeps me busy! Ha ha

I was just wondering if anyone has any advice or has been though the same thing with infants sleep pattern?
My DD is 12 weeks old next week and from about 8 weeks she has been, mostly, a good night sleeper. She has long sleeps anywhere from 7-9 hrs usually bit my issue is she starts this big sleep in he late arvo. Anywhere from 3:30-7:30.
This causes her to wake during the night for a feed and then if it's anywhere near 5am good luck getting her back to sleep! If it's a feed around 2 or 3 she'll go back for a few more hours, of its 4/4:30 it just won't happen lol. She's always woken at 5/5:30 so I'm not sure if that will change by if I can get her to sleep at night around 10/11 before her big sleep it would be much better.

I have tried (only once) to wake her for a dream feed around 11 but that backfired BIG TIME ha ha. I may just need to keep doing that though until she gets used to it?

Usually she's in our room for her night time sleep in her bassinet but last night I kept her out with us like I do during the day for her naps, but she still slept like a log ha ha. I thought it might work but it didn't.

I have seen thing about changing their sleep routine slowly by 15 mins each time to get closer to the hour you want bub to sleep but that will take forever if I need it moved 3 hrs ha ha:wacko:

If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them please :)

I followed the book on " becoming baby wise" it was a life saver. Basically baby needs to be in a routine of eat, play sleep every 3 hrs until they hit a certain week. So if you want baby to sleep through at night the rule is never let baby sleep past 3 hrs during the day. If they do, they will definitely wake at night In order to make up for " lost ounces". So I would wake her every 3 hrs to feed during the day then as of 8pm or whenever the last feed is do a bath, bottle bed routine. That should help baby sleep better at night

You're right, I think I need to wake her 3 hrs into what might be looking like her big sleep and treat it like a normal nap.

If I can get her to have her big sleep later it will be better for all of us ha ha. Especially since we sometimes go out for dinner(only at other people house at the moment ha ha) and if she has this big sleep in the arvo that means she needs to be woken up too many times to transfer her.

Thanks :)
