Can I stop taking my folic acid?

Hi ladies,

I'm 14 weeks pregnant,is it ok to stop taking folic acid?

My docs kept telling me I can stop after first tri but I got my pregnacare vits on offer and got LOADS of packs so am carrying on until I finish them

My Midwife said to take them the whole way through... But I took them all the time in 1st trimester but keep forgetting now. wooops.

I have always been told and learned to take prenatals including folic through the whole pregnancy.

I'm still taking my pre-nats (which have folic acid) and will continue to do so... it can't hurt! And my OB hasn't said it's OK to stop...

I've heard conflicting info.. as I do believe the first tri is THE most important to take your Folic Acid... but might help later on too???
