Are there any muscle rubs or creams I can use to relieve the pain in my lower back? I have read that ibuprofen gel, radian b and voltoral should all be avoided during pregnancy but surely there's one out there that is safe to use?

i was told by the doc to use deep heat cream or deep freeze cream which is safe just smells abit haha

thank you, I don't mind the smell as long as it helps ease the pain a bit

I have been to the dr today with the same problem,he said all muscle creams etc are really unsafe in pregnancy and to just use heat.

I have a damaged disc in my lower back and was really worried about back pain in my pregnancy but have been fairly lucky. Have you tried the CuraHeat pads you get in the supermarkets, pharmacies etc? I was surprised at how much relief they give me as I was expecting them not to work at all. They might not work for you, but probably worth a try if you haven't already done so.

tried the heat pads before pregnancy as tend to get back pain but they never worked for me
