My LMP was January 10th and we were almost positive that we conceived on January 27th which would make me about 9 weeks pregnant.
I had a sonogram a week ago and according to it I'm only about 7 weeks now.
Could the sonogram be wrong or are hubby and I wrong on when we conceived?

Congrats on your pregnancy.

I think the sonogram calculates your due date by measuring the baby. So it's fairly accurate. I would believe the sonogram.

Either that or your baby is growing slower than normal? Or ovulation was delayed?

I'd personally stick with the sonogram. They measured the baby and didn't find anything abnormal.

going by when you got your :bfp: i'd say the sonogram matches with that :)
xx

I just put your LMP into a conception calculator and it says you most likely conceived 24th jan. All i know is they measure they the baby based of your LMP, they did for me anyway.

My LMP was 17th Sep and i thought i conceived on the 1st of October. My ultrasound at 10 weeks showed i would have conceived the 5th of october. Even though its only a few days we still stuck with ultrasound dates as they are alot more accurate because we really dont know when we conceived as sperm can live upto 5 days.

Sonograms can be wrong, they are only so accurate and can change.

My first sonogram put me 3 weeks sooner than I thought I was and the next put me just over a week ahead of my revised date and my latest scan had new dates as well (but I don't know what it is yet as the MW is looking into it).

So your sonogram dates can change over time. But my MW and all the research I've done supports that they get less and less accurate the farther along you get, especially with weight.

So true!
They have a margin of error of something like 1.5 lbs (!!!) by the end of your pregnancy. Which is cause for relief to any mums who have been told that they are about to birth giant babies! :)
