Can they tell the gender at 13 weeks? Ultrasound today!

I am going in today for the downs sequential screening tests, ultrasound and blood draw. Will they even check the genital area to look for a nub?? Just curious what to expect?

i have NT scan tomorrow and im planning on asking, ive heard of people finding out at there 13 week scans. good luck and keep us posted.

I had mine last week at exactly 13 weeks, after they put me back 4 days, I asked but they said it was too early. I've seen on here a few women have been able to find out, but think it depends on how big they are, what position they're in etc etc. A few places won't even try guessing as it can be too early to tell sometimes. Good luck though, hopefully your lo is in the right place for them too see!!x

In Ontario, they will not give us gender scans until at least 18 weeks. Before that, it can be too hard to tell. I think it is rare to find out the gender at 13 weeks, but it never hurts to ask! GL

I would ask for a pic of the nub if possible. They will probably ask why and might tell you it's impossible to know the gender so early but you can alway tell them to humor you. If they say no try to catch a glimpse while they are doing the u/s.
