Can you get a false positive?

I was due on my AF around the 5-9th and never came on - on wednesday I did a couple of cheap hpts they came back with a very faint positive result, so on thursday I did another came back slightly darker - so i went out and bought a clear blue - it came back I was 1-2 weeks pregnant great I thought, phoned drs and booked an appt for tomorrow so I can get an early scan again due to a previous ectopic pregnancy - and then today I have done one of my cheap hpts just out of curiosity and it came back negative, i then did a clear blue and that came back not pregnant - i have no cramps or no bleeding - so dont know what is going on. xx

I am going doctors tomorrow morning, just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same and still gone onto have a healthy pregnancy - just so strange to have positive tests for 4 days and now there negative all of a sudden when I have had no cramping or bleeding. xx
