Can you have an lh surge but a low to medium cervix?

Quick question for those who check cervical position! This is my first cycle monitoring it and it doesn't seem to have shifted too much over the course of my cycle... Maybe a little higher than it in the beginning. I just used an opk and it's very close to positive and I think if I had tested with my walgreens brand one, it would have been positive... Anyway so I'm thinking this is my surge. Holding pee now for another hour to retest. But my cervical position still seems low or medium, not as high as it seems to need to be for ovulation. Can it rise right before ovulation? Or is "high soft open" different for everyone? I'm really confused here! Also using a cbefm and have had high readings the past four days. I guess if tomorrow is peak I'll know that this WAS my surge, but any info would be greatly appreciated!

It seems for me that mine doesn't rise until I get my surge. Since mine only lasts for about 12 hours, it's really easy for me to miss. Honestly, most of the time I don't even notice that it's in the right position until AFTER I O. Is this normal... I don't know. I've actually been wondering the same thing. Ok..... this is going to be WAY TMI, but.... I do notice that my CP changes when I need to.... erhmmmm.... have a BM. I don't know if the lack of room in that particular area keeps the cervix from being where it needs to be, or if it's all in my head. It was just something I noticed this cycle.

Lol that was funny. I actually read that this is true, so don't think that's weird! And I think I read somewhere else that the best time to check is after bowel movement... Don't know of that's true or not... But thanks for your answer! I'm hoping the fact that my cervix is not super high doesn't mean I'm not fertile during my lh surge!

Seriously, don't go by your cp. I thought I had my surge at the weekend using ic's and my cervix was extreamly high, soft and hard to reach with lots of ewcm. Today I got a + with the cbd and I appear to have the sticky white cm. I've given up on cp, it feels high and hard doesn't really tell me anything with my + opk, so maybe I am reading the position too much!

OMG, seriously!!! I'm so glad I posted that now. I came really close to posting a thread asking that same question, but got so embarrassed every time!
Anyway, I have a tipped uterus. My cervix never gets to the "top", it's always to the side, but I can feel it rising and getting softer. Knowing this has made it a lot easier for me to chart my CP. I keep reading that women with this problem have to lay on their bellies rather than their backs to get the spermies up the cervix. I've tried laying on my back or my belly when my CP rises to see where my cervix falls, and I ended up more confused than if I had just left well enough alone! BUT.... I did get PG with my youngest by laying on my belly, so maybe there's something to it. Do you think this might be what's going on with you?

Hiya hunnie... this could be totally normal for yourself... and remember if you got a positive OPK... you would typically ovulate within 12-48 hours from now, so there is lots of time for your cervix to change position :) x

Ooooh my gosh, I am so glad you said this! I do remember being told I have a retroverted uterus! I would never have connected it with cp though so you have made my day! I thought there was something wrong with me! Now I have to go research this! But now I'm thinking that this was my lh surge! Because cervix is higher and softer today! Woop woop! Hope I get my peak on cbefm tomorrow! Thank you sooo much!
