Hi,

I have this is 1st tri too but I thought you ladies may have more experience with this :) I will be joining you soon too :happydance: cant wait!

Ive just started using the doppler and I can normally pick up the hb :cloud9:, even if i do have to search for a while sometimes:haha:. However I can sometimes be holding it still and hear a sort of russling noise and sometimes even a thump (maybe a kick!?) Its not static as i know what thats like too :) I was just wondering if anyone else has this and if it could poss be the baby moving? It often happens when the hb moves to a different spot too?

Thanks

I don't really know but, when I've been monitored for movement in the hospital, there's a rise in the baby's heart rate when it moves so I'd say that, if it coincides with an increase in heart-rate, then I guess it's possible!

i can tell now. but back when i first got my doppler i used to hear allsorts and not know what it was but now wen i use it which i rarely as i can feel baba now, but wen she moves and i feel and hear it, its so weird, sounds like a flobpop haha what a word.must be her doing summersaults inside so cute

haha Thats exactly how id describe it aswel, think I actually posted a thread simular to this a while back because wasn't sure if it was baby I was hearing...but it was

Yup sounds like rustling or sometimes a thump, that's your LO moving. This was confirmed for us at the docs office.

Yey thank you ladies for responding! I did wonder, LO was being sooo fidgety yesterday, could only hear it for a few seconds! will try again this evening :) Just counting the days until my scan next monday!

yep thats baby moving, it was confirmed by my midwife and now at 23 weeks i can hear the movement on Doppler and feel it, its so weird lol

How about when there are little squeaky sounds or squeals? Is that baby moving or have I got a crap doppler - I can't decide.

When I hear movement, it's usually a thump or thud sound. Just don't make the mistake of placing the doppler too high, i.e. on your intestines. It sounds like swishing, and can definitely fool you (well, ME at least!) into thinking it's baby swimming around!!

yeah u can hear movement on a doppler but it usually sounds like a WOMP sound (hard to explain) anything else is interferance or wind. lol

i get loud squeels when my LO moves, as i can feel it as well. it sounds the same as when you move the probe too quickly across your tummy.

yeah i think you defo can.........LO was moving all over the other day as the Hb kept coming and going but i could hear it further away........so strange but cool
