Hi

Just wondering and also being slightly paranoid if its normal to not feel the baby move after feeling sporadic movements?

I am nearly 18 weeks I have had 2 babies before and should really know how this all goes but I have been feeling the baby move since I was 10 weeks, over the last few days I have felt nothing, well I think nothing, not sure if its trapped gas or my insides rumbling away or it really is the baby moving.

I havent had any symptoms of miscarriage, bleeding etc but I have had pains but I know this is probably down to everything stretching, but I am really worried about it and stupidly dont want to cause any alarm for the fear of finding out that the baby is not alive.

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same, I know that you do feel the baby earlier with subsequent pregnancies and with my 2nd he moved very early on and didnt stop.

I kinda dont feel pregnant, I have no symptoms now just tiredness my bump is rather pathetic looking considering I go huge in pregnancy and my bump is quite soft, I do feel stupid as you would think I would know the drill having had 2 babies already but just cant help wondering.

So is it normal? should I be worried? Or is the baby just having some lazy days

The baby is still small hun and might have just moved to your back. I still have quiet days.

As for no symptoms mine vanished overnight at 18 weeks, i had felt rough till then and suddenly woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed... worried the heck out of me!

I hardly have a bump and still look fatter than normal rather than pregnant.

If you are worried i would give your mw a ring. I did with mine, and the mw saw me same day and listened to HB to reassure me.

My LO went hiding Sunday and Monday and I started to really worry - but by Monday night I started feeling movements again and all of Tuesday and yesterday non-stop wiggling.

i dont feel my baby move all the time. if you're worried ring the hospital. but baby might just be kicking the placenta or facing a way where you dont feel them much

I agree with the above posters. They do have quiet days, they are probably on a growth spurt when they go quiet. If you are worried then call your anti-natel helpline at the hospital and if anything like mine they will have you in to just check on baby mainly for reassrance for yourself. Stressing over it is going to do you nor baby any good so i would just give them a call and ask if you can go in just for peace of mind. I bet baby is just having a little growth spurt and will be kicking away with all mighty anytime soon! x

Hi,I'm pregnant with my 3rd also, and experienced exactly what you described,I had very active babies before so was worried there was something wrong.
I had my scan this wk,and my placenta is to the front so I was told that was the reason, baby is kicking and punching the placenta instead of me!I couldn't believe I couldn't feel it coz he/she was so active during the scan.Could be the same for you,or maybe baby just lazy!!
If you're concerned call mw/doc and I'm sure they'll find hb with doppler for you to put your mind at ease.x

Thx everyone

Glad to know that am just being paranoid, I have a MW appoint tomorrow so will mention it to her and see if they can have a listen

And when I got my 1st scan it showed the placenta was at the front so maybe it hasnt moved then

Feel better :happydance:

I have this also hon....I started feeling baby about 10wks too and is very hit and miss although right now is very much hit....I can have about 10mins of moving and then not feel anything else for the rest of the day....guess baby drops off to sleep or whatever....do speak with your mw def worth setting your mind at rest! I also think my placenta is at front cause on my doppler you can hear placenta over h/b!

Really? what does the placenta sound like???

Am just being paranoid and going by the fact that i already have 2 this one just feels different but then all the way through I have felt different, one week of sickness and then nothing which I am thankfull for!!!

Am sure I will be back moaning about how I cant sleep due to him/her moving all night

Its like a whooshing rushing sound....you get to hear it quite clealry if you have doppler addiction like me :dohh: mine is on a monthly hire am sending it back next week....best for my sanity I think

This is my second pregnancy hon and def different in everyway to Oliver....I woke up last sunday morning feeling `not pregnant anymore` I think it was down to DH leaving for a works thing for a few days.....baby was fine :dohh: you do feel a right ninny but its always best to get checked out!

I am having a quiet day today - its the most worrying thing isnt it!

Having had 2 babies I have never heard the placenta!!

But gonna have a look at getting a dopler, I did buy one of those heartbeat monitors from argos when I was pregnant with my youngest monitors which was absolutly rubbish, total waste of money and couldnt hear anything right up until the due date but then my youngest was so active that i didnt really need it.

Just want it to move like it was at least then u know everything is fine!

Just hired one of those doplers for 10 quid per month seems quite reasonable - soooo excited now and gonna end up so obesessed listenin to it :)

Thx again for everyones help

Hi I just also wanted to thank you all for the reassurance because I am 20+2 and have been worried about lack of movements today and I totally didn't think about growth spurts etc. I hope baby is ok, yours and mine! xxx
