Hi ladies

Everytime I take Willow out of her car seat she is all sweaty and hot. Ive started not using a blanket and leave her in loose light clothing but sometimes even then shes all sweaty when i take her out.
Even if we have just nipped into town for an hour it happens.

Does anyone else get this? is there anything i can do to stop it?

im worried about her overheating.

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

one of the 12 people who have viewed this must know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alex is the same.....................i am guessing its ok as long as thier heads are not covered.

sorry hun i really dont know, i would of suggested the things you have already done
dont know if you just mean in the car, or as on the pram as part of travel system so it might sound weird but use the car seat as little as poss (only in car)

What carseat have you got hun??If its a Maxi Cosi they do white Summer covers for there carseats to help keep babies cool.We had one as Finn was the same in his!!x

I always found that with the little buckety type seat, it was plastic and polystrene and just too well insulated. We swapped it for a proper type car seat and that was fine.

i have one that goes with the babystyle TS2 pram, it came with the pram as a package.

I wanted to buy a seat that was compatible with isofix but found out the other day that isofix bars were fitted to cars from 2002 onwards and I have a 2000 car! gutted!!!!!!!!

hmmm bit of a nightmare!

I only just noticed this with Abigail today, when I lifed her out of the car seat she was relaly sweaty all down her back. I don't know that there is much I can do about it as I am not in a position to go out and buy a new car seat, although I might look into the summer cover. I had her in a big wooly cardigan too, which I think may not have helped! We have maxi cosi.

We had this in the summer with the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix. Got better after we removed the padding around her head (obviously when it was appropriate to do so!)

Earl is a warm child (only wears one layer in the house for example) and his car seat was a real pain. I took out all superflous padding, only put him in breathable material (luckily got lots of wooly cardigans lol) and don't have a hat on in the car. He's now much more comfy and I haven't picked a sopping wet sweaty child out for a while.

I hate the bloody car seats. H hates it. Aside from when I'm late with her bottle (bad mummy! Lol) it's the only time she makes a fuss. Hot, stuffed in and unable to fidget. What's to like? She's always a bit sweaty too. I try not to use it as a pushchair unless it's a really quick dash round the shops, even though that's why we bought that one. A necessary evil me thinks.

No advice I'm afraid - you're doing all you can already I think. Happy to join in and have a moan though. :)

It's probably because the car seats are all made from synthetic fibres so they don't breath. You could try putting a cotton blanket under LO if it's safe to do that?

have you tried one of those sheepskin liners in, these are beatheable for babies skin rather than the fabric of carseat covers..
