Why do my cats insist on flicking the litter crystals everywhere when they have been to the loo GRRR

I'm sick of sweeping the bloody things up! :hissy:

Why don't you get cat flap? They might prefer going outside, most cats do.

they are outside all the time... they still use the little tray

I know the feeling! I can't even get my cat to go outside as she is a house cat and we live above a pub. She also likes to wait until DH has one to work; literally as soon as he walks out of the door she will go to her tray. Rahhhhh!!!!

Im all for them using the tray... but i wish they wouldnt flick the stuff everywhere haha

I know the feeling too, theres even a door on the box but she still flicks litter out of it!

Useful to know. I was going to buy one of those types because I am sick of the mess! Mind, I would rather her use the tray than not IYKWIM?!

exactly! haha i just wish mine wouldnt make a point of using the tray right after ive just hoovered up!

Mine does the same thing. I think she does it b/c she knows it irritates me!

yep... theyre not stupid are they haha sly buggars!

Jessie does this too  she also knocks all the food out of her bowl coz she wont eat the dry bits LOL xx

my cats take their food out of the bowl (using their teeth) then eat it off the floor... leaving dried jelly on my floor for me to clean up! dont reallky know why i bother with the bowls

I got one with a lid and door because I couldn't bear the mess they were making and it didn't stop it completely but it is much, much better!

i spend my life cleaning up scattered cat litter as i breed them so have a fair few. it gets every bloody where doesnt it.

i have a new plan when i can afford it im buying new trays for the house but not actually trays, im gonna buy storage boxes as the sides will be much higher. and they will have to jump in and out of it.
will start off with one and see if they will actually use it, but i know other raggy owners that use these.

lol mine would just jump on the sides of the box, thus knocking it over!

i spend my life sweeping up and clearing up cat biscuits!! untidy lil devils arent they :p

They're being 'clean' and trying to cover it up. How about removing the litter tray? Try putting it outside the back door (or wherever they leave the house when they go outside) so they get used to using it out there. Then remove it altogether. If removing the tray isn't an option, have you considered getting one of the enclosed little trays? Like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8...=aps&hvadid=4702646169&ref=pd_sl_8j2y6xsv02_e These tend to keep the smell in too. Some friends of mine had rubber ribbon strips hanging in the entrance to the box too.
