Okay, I got my CBFM last the older style one. A week later I also purchased the advanced one. I only could use the older one for my last cycle, bc the advanced one didn't get here in time. So when this cycle began, I decided to use the Advanced one for FMU and the Older on later in the day for SMU. I'm on CD 11 according to FF and my older monitor, the advanced asks for the time that AF started, so I guess that effects the CD it calculates so it has me at CD10. But my last cycle I was already getting High readings on the older monitor by now. They started on CD10 and went to CD14 on CD15 I got a Peak and by default CD16 was a Peak reading, which with my BBT's was the day that I O'd. I haven't done my SMU reading today, yet on the the older monitor, so I don't know what it's going to say yet but I'm started to get concerned that the Advanced is still giving me lows. The other thing that I have noticed this cycle that is different from my last is that my range of pre O temps are much higher this cycle. Last cycle they ranged from 97.1-96.3, this cycle my temps have been mostly in the 97.6-97.3 with the first temp being 98.1 but I was technically still on menses so I don't really take that one into too much account. My Post O temps last cycle were great and stayed in the 97.2-98.6 with majority of them being on the higher side, so I'm not concerned about progesterone or my luteal phase, as it's always between 13-15days too. But I had done a little research last month when I noticed that my pre O temps were a lot lower then majority of the other ladies charts I was keeping up with, and found out that consistently low temps in the range I was in can be an indicator of thyroid issue's mainly hypothyroidism, which I am at HIGH risk for and thyroid cancer runs in my family on both sides, so it kinda freaked me out. This was coming from statistics that Fertility Specialist Acupuncturist's had collected over the yrs with patients BBT charts and pretty all of them said the same thing, that low temp in the 96's are indicative of hypo and higher temps in the 98-99 range pre O are indicative of hyper thyroid issue's, but they said that post O temps would normally reflect an certain range as well, which my post O temps were not in the low range, they were normally and pretty consistent.

SO- If you made it through my background, my questions are this, one how different were your readings on the CBFM/CBAFM on your second cycle, should I be concerned that it isn't giving me high's yet, even though my CM/CP and normal pre O symptoms are still happening?

And- If you look back through your charts, do your pre and post O temps normally stay within the same ranges of temps or do they change from cycle to cycle? If you are one that has temps that change from cycle to cycle or have had very low pre O temps with "normal" post O temps, have you ever been diagnosed with any fertility issue that those temps were the main indication of? Should I be concerned that my temps aren't being consistent from cycle to cycle or should I just be glad that this cycle they are in a more "optimal" range to develop a healthy viable egg? That was one of the other things that my research found was that too low temps pre O were not good for the developing and maturing eggs and typically didn't produce "viable" egg's for fertilization.

Anyways, as you can tell. I'm a tad worried about what I'm seeing this cycle so if anyone has any insight into these kind of issue's, I would love to hear what you have to say. Keeping my FX'd that I don't have anything to worry about, but it took my 10 yrs to conceive my first child, so that always stays in the back of my mind, now that we are trying for our second. I will note though, that ever since my cycle's returned PP (we were exclusive BFder's) at about a yr PP, they have been radically different this time around and in a good way, they are typically the normal 30-32 days, I'm showing biphasic charts, so I am Oing, my luteal phase is good number of days, and I typically O around day 15-18.

Hello. I have not used the CBFM, however, I do regularly test my BBT. I also have low pre-O temps, similar ranges to yours. I have had my thyroid tested multiple times and it always comes out normal. (Thyroid history in my family as well). My temps have changed from time to time, but typically, they go back to normal. Temps can also change based on weather, temp in the bedroom, blankets, etc. As far as your research goes, I wish I could help. However, I do not really know anything about lower Pre-O temps. I did wonder this myself a few months back and did some research. The only thing I came up with is that lower pre-O temps could indicate lower metabolism. I'm not sure if this would have an affect on fertility or not.
We only tried for 4 months to get pregnant with our DS. However, we have been currently trying for #2 for two years now. I've never used the CBFM. Please let me know how you like it. I had actually never heard of it before your post. Maybe I will check it out. Hoping things work out for you!

Well, so far I have used the older one for 2 months (I'm finally 3dpo this 2nd cycle on the older one) and I didn't get my Advanced touch screen one in time for last cycle, so it was only used this one cycle. BUT to be perfectly honest, when you look them up, I almost guarantee that you will want the new advanced one bc it's "cooler" but honestly so far and I keep track of EVERYTHING including my BBT and the older one has been more accurate, at least for me. I know another lady on here who has very good accuracy with her's as well. I actually was so disappointed in the CBAFM this month, bc if I had been solely relying on it (and not using both monitors plus wondfo's ) I would of totally missed my surge. NO JOKE. It never gave me a peak, only highs, even though I got peaks on the old one and my wondfo's and they lined up perfectly with my BBT and CM/CP, if you look at my chart. So, I would suggest, with my personal experience, to get the older one.
