CD1 - Should I take a break from Vitex for a few days??

I'm so confused! Some say take Vitex all cycle long and some say give it a break for a few days during AF. I am expecting AF any second and have not taken it this morning. What do you guys think? Break or no break?

I just started taking it but I've heard it makes AF really heavy.

I've heard to take it until ovulation, and then to stop, which to me, means take it when your period starts up until ovulation? But now I'm not sure lol.. Sorry if that's confused you even more!

I don't take it during AF it makes it really really heavy as soon as af leaves I resume vitex and take it until cd1 again.

I've heard you take it straight through to keep hormones in check. I know you only take Evening Primrose Oil until ovulation.
