Hi all.
This is my first post in here so I'm hoping it actually works lol.
Im after some advice/encouragement/wordsofwisdom or even just to vent perhaps...

Hubby and I are wanting to start our family.
I stopped taking birth control (diane) in december. I had my usual with drawal bleed and then....NOTHING!!.

I was on the pill for 10 years with 1 small break.

Im currently on cd105! With no signs of AF anywhere.

Yesterday when I went to the bathroom and wiped i noticed a couple of tiny tiny spots of pink... Ive nevee noticed it before but the next time I used the loo there was nothing and nothing since.

Ive been to the doctor who said my hormones were normal and to come back if AF hadnt returned by 6 months.
Ive been taking vitex for 1 month and been seeing a chinese herbalist for almost 1 month who has given me herbs to take and also acupuncture.
Ive been doing opks with only negatives and also negative pregnancy tests.

Im feeling so deflated， I feel as though I cant even TTC because I'm not ovulating or having periods. I know this all takes time and to not stress as it only makes it worse but it's so hard as much as I try to push it to the back of my mind its all I think about.

Can anyone offer some advice. Everyone around me is getting pregnant and I cant even get my period back...

Im 25 no previous pregnancies I eat healthy and am a perfect BMI.

Hello!!! You and I have a very similar story, at least you are where I was last October when I realized something was not right. I stopped BCP in may of 2015 and was like WTF, where is my period, I am ready to be pregnant!!!!

First off, if you don't have a period for 3 months it is common practice in the USA for your doctor to give you one of two things: a progesterone withdrawal or one month of BCP both which will induce a withdrawal bleed. The hope is that this "jump starts" your period. If you read through this board many, many, many women will report that their doctors prescribe them provera/progesterone for 10 days to induce a withdrawal bleed and for many women this does the trick. Considering you haven't had any bleeding in almost 4 months and your doc is telling you to wait 6 more....that's 9 months total. That would not sit right with me....

If I were you I would ditch the OPKs until you get a period. At this point you probably won't ovulate and its probably making you feel worse. Limit yourself to one pregnancy test a week, there was a point in time where my partner had to hide my pregnancy tests on me because I was testing every day for no reason! Once you get your period re-start the OPKs and start temping and charting with fertility friend so you can confirm your ovulation. Acupuncture is great, keep that up for sure.

Did you see a general practitioner or an OBGYN? I would recommend seeing an OBGYN, not sire how that works on your side of the pond but if you can get to a GYN you can get more specialized care.

Honestly, it can take a while for your body to regulate after so many years of being fed artificial hormones. And yes it sucks and is totally unfair that some women get pregnant right after they stop the pill. What helps me is posting on BnB and getting and giving support to others. I suggest you stick around, post on some other threads and contribute to the board. I can tell you already have a lot to offer.

Anywho...

So my doctor said to come back if it hasnt returned bu 6 months sorry if I confused you by that.

Your right though I will stop the opks until after a period as they will just send me mad..
I will do 1 pregnancy test once a week just to check so I know what I should and shouldn't be doing...

Im really hesitant if the doctor wants me to have the induced period because I feel like its just fake like the pill but im sure if af isnt here soon ill be that desperate ill just do anything. I also have 1 pack of the ocp left so maybe I even think about giving that a go for a month...

Stupid bodies.

The doctor said if as isnt her by may she will send me to a gyno.

What was the end result with your case? Did you have the induced bleed and did it sort it out for you? Dam my impatientness.

Australia! Ok, I learned that "loo" is also an Aussie term.

My primary care doc prescribed me a progesterone withdrawal challenge after I did not have a period for 3 months. It was 10 days of progesterone which mimics the luteal phase of your cycle, tricking your body into thinking you ovulated. It did the trick and I had a withdrawal bleed. For some women this jump starts their cycle into starting on its own. Unfortunately after I had the withdrawal bleed my cycle did not return. As it turns out I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which was masked by being on the pill for so long.

I guess you have some choices to make...you can keep on going as things are. Take the vitex and do acupuncture and hope that your body adjusts on its own. You could also take the progesterone challenge and see how you respond to that and continue acupuncture. Generally its not a good idea to take herbs and western medicine at the same time so you may want to stop the vitex during the progesterone if you choose to take it. You're right, its not a real period BUT it can jump start things for you. Also, it isn't healthy for your body to go 6 months without a bleed, your body needs to shed the uterine lining to keep being healthy. Either way, do what feels right for you. I know you are confused an inpatient. I have been there myself many times. I feel like I am the PERFECT candidate for pregnancy. I have a healthy weight, healthy lifestyle, I eat organic, I don't smoke, I have a good career and a house but I have this damn endocrine disorder that is keeping me from ovulating! Feel good that you are younger and have more time. I am turning 33 in a few months which is definitely not old but I am starting to feel the pressure....

Keep me posted on what you decide to do.

A little irony..... I started using OPKs again this morning. I did a month of BCP to induce a bleed. I am hoping to ovulate on my own although I know it is not likely. If I don't ovulate on my own I will start fertility treatment with another induced cycle. ANYWAY, I re-started OPKs this morning. I do one with FMU and one late afternoon and I realized I am supposed to be drinking lots of water to have healthy cervical fluid BUT I have to have no water for 4 hours every afternoon do I can accurately test my lh! I am already tired of this round of OPKs!

I fell pregnsnt on cd 100 n odd with my 6 year old, it's always possible. Hope something happens soon, either a positive Opk or Af. It's horrible just waiting and waiting x

2ducks your reply is helpful. I think I've decided to stop the opks at the moment and try a different doctor. Just to get a second opinion as to what I should do. If she suggests a induced bleed then so be it. If that's the case at least I can feel as though something is happening and I can work towards something rather than just nothing lol.
I hope after this bcp you do ovulate that would bw awesome for you.

It could just be your body gearing up for AF.
What were your cycles like before contraception? Ive always had long irregular cycles, but when trying for this baby I took soya isoflavones. It's called natures Clomid and helps the body ovulate. I fell pregnant 2 cycles in a row on it (first ended in mc)
I'm not suggesting you take it, but just thought it out it out there x

They were pretty regular if I remember correctly... I went on the pill initially from heavy bleeding and cramps but maybe they were irregular too...ahh it's hard to remember.
Lets hope so.

After stopping the pill my periods didn't cone back either. After 6 months my doctor refered me to a specialist who discovered I had PCOS and we started fertility treatments right away. All in all it took me 9 months to conceive, which really isn't bad. Hopefully everything turns out fine for you, but even if it's not the case, know that doctors have easy ways to help

Don't feel down! I was on BC (Depo) for about the same amount of time, and it took about a year a half to get my periods back. Vitex will definitely help get your cycle on track, I used it for awhile until my period became more regular. So I definitely feel where you're coming from, I'm 27 and too all of my friends are becoming pregnant. Don't get discouraged! Our time will come! Don't give up hope, especially if your doctor is telling you your hormones are normal.

I use CB Digital OPK's to test for fertility, but also try to watch for signs your body is giving, you - like EWCM which usually comes around the time that you're most fertile.

I'm on month 4 of TTC, no luck yet, but don't give up hope!

Quick update.
Today is cd111, when I went to the toilet today I had somwsome brown spotting. Just the 1 time but fingers crossed this is FINALLY AF!!!

I feel you, girl. I'm CD71. Stopped BCP back in December. One period in January at CD41. Nothing since. Spotting the first week of March which I thought was implantation bleeding but ended up not. Been testing every week. Never had issues conceiving first LO's. 1st cycle with both and DS was right off of coming off BCP.

I'm seeing my OB Wednesday and can't wait. I'm so frustrated.

I'm right there with you! There is an entire thread labeled "I hate af", if those women only knew how lucky they were to get a regular cycle....
