Can anyone tell me how much cereal their baby has for breakfast?

Ruby has about 30g of cereal for breakfast and I wonder if this is too much as she does not eat her lunch! I don't want to fill her with cereal so she is too full for other things, so interested to compare with others.

Thanks :)

Amelies a greedy fatty and eats 2 breakfasts a day (2 cereals and a round of toast) followed by a cooked lunch which she asks for 2nds with pudding :dohh: If shes having mini shredded wheats I give her about 10 of them.

Adam's portions vary, and have definitely reduced in the last month or two from the much bigger portions he put away at 8-10 months.

At the moment he'll have 1/2 to 1 Weetabix, he seems to have more when his daddy is in charge of breakfast. If he had mini Shredded Wheats, he might have 8-10, which is maybe 15g; I did work out that he was having about 25g when he ate 16 or so.

I don't consider he eats a big breakfast really. He'll have fruit as well, but I offer the cereal first in the hope he'll want it (for the vitamins). Today for example, he ate his 1/2 Weetabix but then wanted very little more of it once there was a banana on offer.

My LO is the same. She'll have up to 1 weetabix, or if I do ready brek, I do 3 heaped tablespoons, then enough milk to make it gooey ;) She won't usually finish the bowl, but I like having a little extra - "Just in case"

My darling girl doesn't like Shreddies, so can't help you there!

I have little Tommee Tippee bowls (which work with the magic mat), and I just tend to put what looks like a "portion" in there, if I'm doing something that comes in smaller pieces. So I kinda fill her bowl to the same level I'd fill my bowl. I should probably weigh it sometime to see what I'm giving her

Anna has about 75g of made up porridge:flower:

Elizabeth has 30g of porridge, with about 150ml of whole milk - and then 15g of Cheerios or Shreddies. She always likes two lots of cereal!

I have 50g of porridge, so she outdoes me - easily - at brekkie. Funny, with Elizabeth...if she eats a small brekkie, she tends to eat less the rest of the day - whereas if she eats a lot, she has a good eating day! No idea how that works!

I've been weighing my cereal recently as I've gained a stone :( so I've weighed his too! George has 45g of Shreddies - he would often eat more but I offer other things at breakfast too if he's still hungry. A small banana, some berries or dried fruit, slice of toast, some dry wheat puffs or rice krispies.

ETA - size of breakfast doesn't seem to correlate with size of lunch. Breakfast is still the most "reliable" meal.

Omar takes 2 heaped tbsp mixed with 1 tbsp of fresh yoghurt or water. Or 1/2 weetabix mixed with 1/3 banana & 1/2 spoon of yoghurt. He takes lunch after 3.5-4 hrs. He only take 1 bottle 4-5 oz 2 hrs after his breakfast & he doesnt take a morning bottle.

Ellis has been known to put away 2 weetabix for breakfast!! Usually it's 1 with blueberries mixed in or a banana. If he has other cereal, either ready brek or rice crispies it must be around 30g but I always mix fruit in. Still manages to put away a snack and lunch too!

the boys have 1 wheatabix with 120ml whole milk and a mashed banana each x
