chance of 3 gender scans being wrong??

after just readng ariels post about her gorgeous baby being a girl and not a boy as she had been told its made me start worrying a bit again about me having been told the wrong sex some people might remember from 2nd tri, we had a private gender scan at 17wks and we were told bubs is a girl then at our NHS scan at 21wks the sonographer said she couldnt be sure coz of how bubs was laid but if she had to hazard a guess she would say girl, then we had a 3d scan at almost 24wks and we were again told that bubs is a girl. but me and OH found it really hard to believe that we were lucky enough to be having a girl(we already have 3 boys between us) and at the back of my mind i keep wondering how likely it would be for all 3 sonographers to be wrong???

Looks girly to me too hun, im panicking too now after seeing that thread lol. I have a 4d scan for tomorrow so am gonna ask them to check sex again lol xxx

i think more chances of it being wrong is when you only have the one gender scan at 20 wks ive known a few people been told they were having girls bout pink and everything ,went into labour had their babys and they have been boys

ive had few scans now due to medical problems and i keep asking them everytime 2 just to make sure as ive got 2 boys im also finding it hard to accept my babys a girl too ,but in my mind and what i have seen on scans shes deffo a girly xxxxxx

I would say that if you have had 3 scan and each person said girl then its gotta be a girl. Your pic looks like a girl too, thats what i seen on my growth scan and my 20 week scan too. It does happen where you get told wrong, as we have seen, but its very rare this happens. Try not to worry about it. I know how hard that is though.

yup girl totallyh different from my boy scan picture, ive been told boy 4 times now so if he comes out a girl I may well die of shock!! lol x

thanks everyone. i keep telling myslef that to be told the wrong gender once is quite rare, twice must be super rare so i think id have to be mega unlucky to be told the wrong gender 3 times! doesnt shift the thought from the back of my mind though x

I have only been told what I am having once at 21 weeks....hope its not wrong now as I have bought ALL gender specific clothes ARGH!!! xxx

i'm confused i went for scan last week and i thought i was having a boy the mw said she can't comment as she'd been told off for telling a couple the week before and not charging them but she did that shot view and it looked the same as your she froze it and i was gutted as i have 3 boys already she said you look upset i said well yeah i've got 3 boys and she said well if you have 3 boys you do know what your looking for and then followed up by the well atleast its healthy i thought boy as the wasn't 3 lines but i'm not sure now mind you on my side shot view i pointed out the boy parts so unless that was the cord oh i don't know i hope i'm wrong and i get my girl but i can't see it surely she wouldn't of lead me to believe i was right and was having a boy even when i was upset

you know what i was like at the time lol, i was sooo paranoid that they were all wrong. ive managed to get my haed round the idea that 3 sonographers wouldnt all be wrong but when i read about ariel being told the wrong sex its brought all my paranoia back lol....im hoping they were right, if not our boy would be dressed like a girl for a while

As long as the hospital your going to for your scan tells you then you can find out at your 20 week scan. If not and you really want to know might be worth you looking into getting a 3d scan done where they will also tell you the gender.

its done at the 20 wk scan most hospitals are fine with telling you but a friend of mine got one the wouldnt (but she is the only one i have known that hasnt been able to find out) just to warn you x x

I read the post your talking about but she was told at a scan before she had the baby that they thought it was actually a girl so stop panicking im sure she will turn out to be boys bit free!!!!

I seen boy bits at a 28 week nhs scan and the sonographer confirmed it, BUT if its wrong and a girl i would see the funny side as at the end of the day i dont mind at all what gender i have as i have one of each anyway, lol

That happened to my mother with me lol. They told her I was a boy so the 1st year of my life in all the pics Im in blue...... and I was bald too lol
