Hey ladies. I know I'm a worry wart but my first pregnancy last year ended with an angel. What are the chances of miscarriage after making it to second trimester? I'm 14 weeks today just get nervous cause my sister in law a month ago lost her baby at 14 weeks.

I understand how you feel. I lost a baby last year too so this pregnancy had me on pins and needles.

The chances of a miscarriage after you've passed the 12 week mark are reduced drastically! Of course, anything can happen at any time but it is not all that common to have a miscarriage in the 2nd trimester (after 20 weeks I believe it is referred to as a stillbirth).

I know it is hard but try to enjoy your pregnancy! My Doctor's words made me feel better - he said that the majority of babies that come into this world are perfectly fine, as are most pregnancies! xo

That's such a shame to hear but i think after you pass 12 weeks the chances drop dramatically. Positive thinking always seems to get me through anthing im worrying about, my mum at 42 years old has had breast cancer, a brain heammorhage and another brain op and she swears positive thinking is the main reason she is here today. Send some happy thoughts to ur little one and stay positive. I had lots of bleeding on and off from 8-10 weeks and i know its hard to stay positive but its best for you and baby, good luck hun, chin up xxx

I understand being nervous, I still am. My doc said that after the first trimester 95% of women carry to full term. So pretty good odds

I have had several losses and then carried a baby to term all my losses were just before 12 weeks though. I still am extremely nervous about being pregnant but i am thinking positively try enjoy your pregnancy though!! Xxx

Hi hunni.. After having 2 angel babies myself I can totally understand your concern! - I was offered an early scan with this bub at just over 8 weeks and she was kind enough to tell me that once they see baby is ok after 8 weeks, the chances of miscarriage fall to 1-2%. Which is tiny! I'm sure you & baby are going to be absolutely fine! - After 2 losses I carried my son to term, he'll be 2 in Nov and this little miss is fighting fit too - I understand it's hard not to worry, but your here!! Enjoy your pregnancy hun! xx

We've experienced 2 miscarriages as well, and I was quite nervous until I made it to my 4th month of pregnancy. I have read that once you reach that second trimester that the chances of miscarriage go down tremendously. I am 22 weeks along and I admit I am still a bit nervous about things going wrong. I'm sure everything is progressing just fine with your little one, though I can't fault you for being nervous as well.
