My friends little boy has chicken pox! Now I haven't seen him for a few weeks but I saw my friend and her daughter on Tuesday.

I've had the chicken pox myself when I was a child and apparently this means that me and the baby are safe but I was just looking for some reassurance from anyone else that has been in this situation.

I was going to ring my MW but I didn't know what to say.

Taken from the same leaflet
I am pregnant and been in contact with chickenpox or shingles -

* If you have had chickenpox in the past, you will be immune. You are not at risk, and you do not need to worry or do anything. About 9 in 10 pregnant women have already had chickenpox as a child and are immune.
* If you have not had chickenpox, or you are not sure, see a doctor as soon as possible. A blood test may be advised which can detect antibodies to see if you are immune. About 1 in 10 pregnant women have not previously had chickenpox and are not immune.

Hope that sets your mind at ease
