WHY I thought it would be a good idea to watch them today, I don't know..

I could barely watch without looking away..
I know it's supposed to be beautiful and all that, the experience is I'm sure.. but my gosh.. to me it just looks very very painful.

:shy: I hope I'll be able to do it..
I dont really have a choice do I!

Ah, is anyone else nervous about giving birth? (excited too, but definitely nervous!)

I love watching birthing videos....

On youtube I watch the episodes of ' one born every minute '

I'm REALLY excited, Nervous too....But I was with my sister when she gave birth and Ive watched alot of vids so I sort of know what to expect.

ive done it and i cant bare to watch birthing videos lol it looks horrible.

but it really isnt as bad as it looks, i never screamed or made noises like some of these women, the only time i shouted was swearing at my oh to rub my back lol

good luck ladies :)

I was really scared to give birth when I had my daughter but I actually loved it. Yes it was painful but a different kind of pain and I managed with just gas and air which I was really pleased about. Didnt want any drugs if I could help it.

I'm actually looking forward to it this time though I know it might be a totally different experience!

LOL....well with my daughter I remember saying "no way in hell am I doing that again" and we changed our minds and planned this one (like we planned her) and here we are. SO...it must not be that bad right?! I am not going to lie, childbirth was horribly painful....but beautiful in a way too. And the craziest thing is the very second the baby is out there is no pain at all! It's really weird. I am looking forward to it with the hopes that this one will happen faster. I can't even watch the birthing vids or shows....not because it looks painful.....but because I cry like a baby! LOL! ;)

i agree it is strange how the pain just goes and then u go to stand up n there it is lol

zane birth wasnt bad at all, but i had a very bad experience with the hospital so thats why im still concerned about having another even tho i wont be at that hospital again thank god lol

if we all thought about the pain we will have to go thru no one would have children, but id do it all over again in a heat beat to have zane.

id also rather give birth then go to the dentist hahahaha

I didn't have the greatest time first time round but I am still doing it again so it can't have put me off! My husband is more scared than I am lol. I haven't watched birth videos for a long time as I scared myself silly when I watched them in my first pregnancy, I won't be watching them this time! I remember some of the birth videos more than I remember actually giving birth!

Lol.. Well that is of some comfort for sure.. The fact that women who have had a child already are willing to do it again..!

I think I'm just gonna steer clear from the videos from now on.. I thought it would be helpful but it was nauseating and scary.

And as for the pain going away as soon as you see the baby, that sounds amazing :) That's what I'm excited for.. seeing peanut will be worth every minute of pain.

Thanks for your replies ladies :)

Are any of you thinking of having your labour filmed? Or have you ever filmed previous?

after i pushed zane out n saw his blue little (well quiet big)body i didnt feel anything, he was then put on the breast n fed for 30 mins n i didnt feel a thing, i just started at him.
then had my stitches done, i felt it but again didnt hurt as i was just staring at him again lol

i would suggest u pack some chocolate for after the birth, as i lost alot of blood so soon as i stood up i felt so sick and dizzy and had zero energy and all the could offer me was toast n i couldnt be arsed to chew lol

I told my husband that he better be there waiting with a cheeseburger as soon as I deliver. I think the scariest thing about labor for me is that I wont be able to eat for a few hours up until birth. :haha:

Def. have the hubby be prepared to bring food asap! I got admitted to labor and delivery at 4pm and wasn't allowed to eat anything from that point until I had my daughter (at 5am the next morning!). Having some chocolate in the bag you bring is a good idea as well to help with sugar levels like moomin said. Although I was stitched pretty good so I wasn't able to get outta bed for like 5 hours or something crazy!

i love giving birth and am looking forward to it! xx

I can't wait to do it again!! (ask me that in 6 months time though!!)

im more excited than scared, hopefully once i start my hypnobirthing ill be just excited, i read this womans story who had a c section without anasthetic just using self hypnosis and had no pain at all!!! (she was allergic). the one thing that concerns me is i have a history of blackouts due to having trouble stabilising my blood sugar levels, i nearly passed out when i had my freezing treatment for abnormal cells because i hadnt eaten dinner yet!

Aww man my hospital must have just been being mean to me!! I wasn't induce and couldn't eat during labor :(

:laugh2:I'm pretty scared to give birth. I mean, obviously I'll have to :) but it still kinda freaks me out to think about it.

They can give you an epidural at 8 months right? :laugh2:

And there is no way I'd let hubby see a birth video. He's very squeamish. I want him in the room, but he's gotta stay north of the equator if you know what I mean!! LOL!

some hospitals dont allow u to eat which is mean, so thats why its important to go on ur hospital walk around

I did go on the walkaround...just wasn't something I thought to ask about. And really during labor eating was the last thing on my mind so it's ok :) LOL!
