While DH and I were on vacation in Canada to visit his family (DH is Chinese), we were recommended to visit an old school Chinese Doctor.

She has you sit down and then puts your left wrist on a pillow to check your pulse with 3 fingers. After a couple minutes of that, she switches to the right wrist and does the same thing. She asks you to stick out your tongue to look at the color, texture, and etc.

She asked me when my last AF was (which by then was 7 days ago). After about 10 minutes of this, she finally says to me " your hormones levels is low and you have not much energy, tired". Pretty spot on...

DH's turn! She said he was even more tired with no energy and his swimmers are slow. She prescribed certain herb teas to drink EVERYDAY, and to sleep no later than 11pm and no early than 10pm. Apparently, it isn't the AMOUNT of sleep you get, it is the time of day you get to sleep. Men's sperm re-energize and build back up between the hours of 10pm and 2am (which is why you should sleep between 10pm and 11pm) and why sex in the morning is more potent!:thumbup:

It was amazing to have that experience and how accurate she was without telling her ANYTHING other than when my last period was. So, DH and I have been going to bed by 11pm (sometimes 10pm) and drinking our special herb tea everyday. She said for us to do this a 2 months straight and I should be pregnant by November :) I am looking forward to the outcome of this!

Hope this information helped you ladies! If you are curious about the tea mixture, PM me! Also, I have read up more on the powers of Rose Quartz and Moonstone, and looks promising! Rose Quartz should be placed at your heart, or above your pubic bone. The Moonstone should be placed above your pubic bone. These will increase the powers of the stone :) Worth a try!

Please, please send me details of the tea. We were going to see a chinese dr but he was going to charge £150.00 for the first consultation and then £25.00 each after that as well as more money for the herbs :-(

Wow what a fantastic consultation. I'd love the tea recipe too pls.

I have a rose quartz bracelet and moonstone for fertility which i wear religiously, apparently the energy helps!

Hope you get your bfp in nov, v exciting xx

LizMcD where did you get your bracelet from, I'm looking for one.

Hi Annie I bought it from ebay, together with a moonstone. Rose quartz is supposed to have fertility powers.

It was only a couple of pounds.

Lets hope they bring us both luck!:winkwink:
xx

not to be a spoil sport, but teas are usually designed specifically for the needs of the individual...they are more of a prescription than a universal thing. the book "the infertility cure" is all about chinese medicine, and there are hundreds of different diagnoses that are used by herbalists. using someone elses concotion isnt likely to help someone else.

lol you are right about being a spoiled sport.

MrS.MaBrEy, herbs are pretty much harmless, especially these specific ones I was "prescribed". It certainly doesn't hurt to try them for the extra umph a woman ttc is looking for.. The basic ingredients of the "prescription" is a dried chinese "yam" (for direct translation), and 3 different types of dried fruit. In fact, the recipe can be used as a Chinese Soup as well (which is the way I have been ingesting it). When used as a soup, you put together all those ingredients along with either pork or chicken on the bone. You can add salt to your liking. Boil for 20 min, then simmer for 3 hours :)

So, MrS. MaBrEy, although you express some small facts about "being tailored to each individual's needs", this recipe can be used by all. PS: I have been well involved and informed of certain Chinese foods and herbs for almost 10 years being my husband is Chinese (and his grandparents even more so). This "concoction" is good for all women, regardless.

To those of you that are interested in the recipe, I will be sending it to you first thing in the morning :hugs: :flower:

Lol you are right about being a spoilsport. Have you heard about how the placebo effect can also create positive results.....

Thanks wintersong4 look ofrward to getting it.

Well Mrs M - I get where you're coming from and for the record
don't think you're a spoilsport at all.

I thought your post was a very polite interjection and one that needed making. Of course the fruits on the list will cause no harm - but unless the practitioner has diagnosed the same issues as WinterSong has, they won't do you much good either (apart from fruit being generally good for you!)

the point is - this is the LONG TERM ttc section and most of us are way beyond clinging to placebos. For every person posting in this thread there are many more reading it and without Mrs M's post they may have been left with the impression that this particular combination is the right one for them too - when, if you are a believer in TCM it is highly unlikely to be.

If nothing else this thread has made me consider going to a Chinese doctor for a consultation so thanks for sharing xx

Agreed. I see nothing wrong with the "placebo" affect at all, even though chinese medicine isn't that lol. Chinese medicine has been around for over 3,000 years and has been proven very affective! Their overall diet is very healthy so I think they know a thing or two :)

Urchin- My response was in no way intended mean. Just my response opinion. And, for LTTC'rs, I would think they would take just about any measure of trying something that might be of some help. The placebo affect in many studies is all the more my point I was trying to make of "just have fun with it". It is all in the mind alot of times. But, seeing as chinese herbs/fruits have played a positive role in our bodies, I don't see it as a placebo.

Everyone is different, I agree with that. But, unless you have an allergy to any herb or fruit they recommended, it has no ill affects to ones self. My "prescription" wasn't ONLY applied to my individual self. Because of the success that follows after the "prescription" given to women, it is suggested to all women having infertility issues  So, what will it hurt?? Nothing. :flower: Obviously, there is no guarantee with using this "prescription" because everyone is different, but it CAN help and as I said before, doesn't hurt to try.

As always, best of luck to ALL of you ladies!! :hugs:
