My friend got her bfp last week and she gave me her clearblue digi with conception indicator to use as she wouldnt use it.

After I used it and it said not pregnant I opened it up to see if I could see how it works, and was so suprised they have a dip strip inside!!

There are 2 test strips inside, the top one I imagine is the strip with the dark blue line and faint blue line on. I reckon when you pee on it if your lines come up the same as that of the line thats already there then it indicates pregnant.

I will put the pic on as soon as I can do it, its quite clever really how they work.

I dont quite know how it works as I pee'd on t before I opened it but the final result was: the top strip had 1 dark line and 1 faint line and the bottom strip had 1 faint line.

It would be interesting if anyone else has a test to open be it negative or positive to look at and put pis on here.

I know this is a bit long winded but i'm just fascinated at how they managed to do it!!

Woo hoo well done! Arent they strange inside, it looks like it scans the lines I think! What did ou have on your test strips, 2 dark lines and 2 light lines?

hope this picture works

Digital tests aren't allowed to be pulled apart. It says that the test cannot be read by the eye.

ooh thats interesting then weffie! I wonder how there read? it obviously has something to do with hcg level.

mumm0704 my test looks just like yours ive tried to add it and my cameras not good.

its worked and you can clearly see the 2 faint shadows and the dark blue line. The lines were very dark in the flesh though.

Would be interesting to see what others got! Think I would enjoy being in the pregnancy test business!

neat...I always wondered what they looked like inside. I wonder what the lines mean.

There are three pregnancy tests of varying threshold sensitivities. See pg 9 and 10 of this document, which explains all you need to know about the clearblue digital: https://www.clearblue.com/uk/HCP/pdf/CI_monograph.pdf

girls girls girls i can tell u whats happening with these tests right here goes lol.......
the top strip is the one that picks up if ur preg or not this strip will tell the test to say preg or not preg...NOW the bottom one will always have a faint line this strip is reading the level of HCG so that it can indicate the test to state a certain weeks NOW both these strips DO also pick up LH, i found this out when emailing clear blue as i HATE not knowing this is when i was emailed back and told straight DO NOT READ THE TEST STRIPS then an explanation of why was below this big bold lettering , so i hope that this helps out alot of the confusion dust to u all girls and leave the digis in place

Wow thats fab!I wasn't trying to read the tests by the way just dismantling them for an inspection!lol!

Thanks for info!

Actually, to be completely correct, the two strips have two different sensitivities. The three different lines plus the control equate to the three different thresholds that the digital screen displays (0-1, 1-2, 3+). The thresholds of hcg were decided based on research, but the actual time since conception is not really that accurate (as many on this forum have noticed).

If your in the UK you can get them from Boots or most chemists stock them and supermarkets.

I found them cheaper on Ebay though and they ship all over the world

Hello everyone,

I also took a clearblue digital with conception indicator yesterday evening. I got a not pregnant but I was not convinced of the result so I took it apart. I saw a control line on the low sensitivity strip with a faint blue line beside it and a faint line on the high sensitivity strip as well. I found a description of how clearble digitals work and it shows that if there are no lines other than the control line then it's "not pregnant". If there are 3 lines (1 control and 2 faint lines) then it's positive but the hcg levels are so low that they cannot be read. I've read all the different posts on here but I can't seem to get a definite answer. My period is due today and there is no sign of it coming..no breast soreness etc. I always have breast tenderness at least 1 day before my period. This happened to me the last time I was pregnant (but miscarried). Anyone in the same situation?

I just thought I would update everyone on my situation as I really wish other people would sometimes. I decided to take another test..an old fashioned one instead of a digital. I got a very faint line but a line nonetheless. It would seem that I am pregnant! So much for the digital tests!!
