Hi all, I am on first round of Clomid and took dose number 4 last night. I'm getting worried because I've read in a lot of places that OPK's will be positive while taking the Clomid. Anyways I did an OPK yesterday and the day before and neither were positive - last nights was very very faint. Does anyone know if this is normal? I'm getting stressed out thinking that it's not working
Don't stress about it honey Just focus on using the OPK's near the time you O .... using other signs aswell. Everyone's body is different, I have NEVER had a + opk, not even when I new for a fact I was Oing ... Clomid does do weird things to your hormone levels, and some people get + opks while using it (as well as around O) but not getting +opks doesn't mean its not working Give you body a chance and time to O .... and try not to POAS to much, you'll only freak yourself out! Just worry about getting a line/smiley face near O .. that's all that matters
Thanks hun. I think it's getting on top of me now, just spent the last hour blubbing about it all, my poor OH. I'd read not to start OPK's while on it because you'd get a false +ve and then when I didn't thought there must be something wrong. Thanks again
please dont stress....opks can be used whilst on clomid...i use the clearblue digital ones...you either get a smiley face or not....no worrying and looking at a blue line and not being sure!!! Clearblue state that clomid will not affect the result....and my consultant said the same.....afterall if the hormone tht makes you ovulate is there then it will work
Hi Claire, I'm on my first cycle of Clomid too. Just taken my last one for this month. Will start using the OPK's from Tuesday. I'm also monitoring CM, CP, BBT, and Ferning, too! lol Good luck everyone, and baby dust to all xx
Hi ladies, Just going to repeat on here what I've just said on another thread. I've used cb digis while on Clomid. Just to make sure I catch the surge, I've been testing first thing and then again after lunch. I have tested positive on both Clomid cycles so far, but both times, I tested negative in the morning and positive early afternoon on the same day. I've since read that your surge happens early morning while you're sleeping and that the LH often isn't present in your urine by the time you wake up. It seems between 11 and 3 is the best time to catch the surge. So I will be peeing oas in the toilets at work in future!
Jan thats great advice, thanks for that. Look like I to will be POAS at work hehe! Are the digi's midstream type tests? I use the ebay cheapies at the mo, dont think they'd be a good idea at work though, can't see me colleagues not noticing me popping off to the loo with a cup
Yep, they're mid stream tests so quite handy for the loo. You have to hang about a while while they come up with a result, but I reckon it's worth it. Good luck.
