Clomid- CD 17 and neg OPKs. Please help!

I am feeling super frustrated. I expected to O around CD 14 , given that I have ovulated on my own as early as CD 17. I have been having fertile CM [could be the EPO?] and had O pangs for a few days off and on. Well, my RE told me to expect ovulation between CD 14 and 19 and here I am STILL getting negative OPKs.

Why is this happening? I ovulate on my own for crying out loud and here I am having these issues?! I have FCM, but it's less abundant that it was even a few days ago.

i think clomid can delay ovulation from your usual time. Its frustrating though isn't it? I ov'd on cd12 my first cycle and was expecting the same in the second cycle but I didn't ov at all - cost me a bloody fortune in opk's!

That's one issue- I've spent almost $40 on OPKs so far [the doctor doesn't want me using ICs- he wants me using one of two specific types for some reason].

My big question is, if it delays ovulation, WHY do they put people on it to O sooner?!

I would use IC's then if you look like youre gonna go positive, switch to better brands... save you a bloody fortune!

I didn't think of that until it was too late to order them. I'm going to order wondfos for next cycle though.
