So after trying naturally to get my periods and ovulation on track with exercise, diet changes, and vitex I have broke down and decided to fork out the money to got to a doctor in an attempt to get some clomid. The depression of no results finally just got to me.
I previously got provera from my GP and took that one month, got my period no ovulation, no period the next month. Just finished another round of provera today so will likely start my period in 7-10 days based on last time.
Does anyone know the chances of ovulating on your first cycle of clomid, or getting pregnant on that first cycle?
Also is it good/ok to hopefully take clomid so soon after provera, or is it good since you should star clomid on the 2nd day of bleeding or whichever it was.

Any advice/experience? :) Thanks!

You do not ovulate on your own? When ttc our son we had "unexplained" infertility. His sperm was fine, my eggs were fine, I ovulated, all test came back negative so they put me on Clomid. With ovulating on my own the doctor would do an ultrasound and I took opks and still didnt get pregnant. Then I took clomid and it triggers your mind to tell your body to drop more eggs so I always had eggs to fertilize they just didnt. The first month of clomid I ovulated, the 2nd month I did, the Third month I did, then we moved over seas took a few months break of clomid fourth time was a charm I suppose since thats when my son was conceived! On clomid your doctor should me monitoring you and letting you know what cycle days to try and what cycle days you will ovulate. :hugs: best of luck to you!

My OBGYN gave me provera cycle before last in order to start my period. I am using Clomid for the first time this cycle, so I dont think there is any problem with them being used close together. I'm on CD9 and go in for my ultrasound tomorrow, not sure really what to expect, but it sounds like I am a similar situation.

Well..:nope: I went to the doctor today, my normal doctor was not there so I got this guy. He was an older Indian man who I could barely understand and who was very judgmental and unhelpful.

Keep in mind before I made my appointment I had when I called the office if Clomid was something I could get there from my GP and was told yes.

So I just got back home from the doctor, I am just devastatingly upset, crying, etc. I basically just went to the doctor to hear him say, he cant prescribe me clomid. He MIGHT if i go get this test and blah blah blah which came up to like 10 tests, but if not he will refer me on to a fertility clinic, to repeat those tests and etc.

He also had to look up what clomid was when I asked for it. He had very little knowledge of PCOS. When I said I had tried provera and weight loss/working out over the last year I basically just got that I am not trying hard enough.

So yeah, pretty messed up at the moment, totally crushed, so not going back there. I can go to a clinic in town called fertility plus but to see the doctor there and get started with clomid IF they deem it fit will run me an extra $300 on top of the $80 I wasted going to the doctor today.

Thanks to everyone for their replies to my previous question.

I am currently probably going to look into buying clomid online, which I know is not probably very safe, but at this point and after my experience today I am seriously considering it. So if anyone knows a good website where I can get clomid in New Zealand, let me know.

Dont really need all the watching as my doctor back home in Alaska gave me an ovulation scope and a heap of stick tests to know when I ovulate. Not as flash as doing it at the office, but he said it would be acceptable.

Anyways, thanks for reading my rant, but also sorry if you did as I am a wreck right now and this is long.

Hey dont let no one judge you my sister bought generic clomid (online) and now has two healthy babys you just need to do some research look indepth to your cycles get to know your body stock up on opk's and hpt i also use generic clomid and i am fine.
I purchase mine through
nobledrugstore.com private message me for more info :)x

Sorry love :hugs: I really hate some people some times. I have heard about getting it online just be VERY careful. I know if you over stimulate your ovaries there can be major problems. Just do your research. Ive thought about doing the same thing since I have all my medical records and feel like Id know what I was doing but im still not sure. Dont want to mess anything up for good!

I don't really have any advice for you, I just wanted to give you big hugs and say I'm so sorry you went through that. Don't let that guy, who clearly doesn't know how to handle ferility issues, get to you!

Sorry the DR was so unhelpful. But I had to go to my doctor (and 2 different ones) before they actually sent me to the specialist. I would go in there every month for tests to why Im not getting my menses and why I'm not O'ing etc, every month the same or even different docs would just run blood test and say are you sure your not peg. Or when I would ask why in 4 years of not using any type of contraception why haven't I fallen Preg??, there reply would alway be, your young it will happen, its perfectly normal for any women to only have a period 2-3 times a year!?!?! (WTF!!!) I felt like yelling at them in the end. I think they must of got sick of me going in there (I know its costly, but thankfully in Aus we have a somewhat of a good health system in cost wise), So they finially sent me to the gyno, who prescribed clomid. I went back to my gp to ask questions about it, because it took me 3 months to get in and see the gyno and I thought it would be quicker to go and see my GP, he said he'd heard of clomid but never had to deal with it, he had too look up information on it. He also said that GP's aren't allowed to prescribe clomid or fertility drugs they have to be prescribed through a Gyno of FS.
Sorry I know my little rant might not been much help, But maybe you should go see your regular doctor and ask them to refer you to a specialist or something, cost wise might be cheaper.

I was given provera to induce AF, so as soon as she arrived I took clomid days 2-6. So its perfectly safe to take together. I haven't had to use this again and fingers crossed I wont need to, to as this is my 3 (and I think last) round Of clomid!

GL fingers are crossed for you.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and information. I am waiting until Monday and will be contacting a fertility clinic here in Auckland. Hopefully I meet all their requirements, I know some places here seem to take your BMI and etc into account. I felt a bit better after getting my frustration out with that other message lol, and my husband was super good about it. As for ordering clomid online I know its probably not smart, but honestly the thing that most put me off about that is how do they get it to you. Living here in NZ they have all those bio-security things and etc, and I'm sure if they scanned the package or something it might look suspicious, so I was wondering how that works, because I know you can get into a bit of trouble with that.

Also as per daddiesgifts question, I do not appear to ovulate on my own, and I also have a very sketchy period history. After stopping birth control I stopped getting periods all together, and went without one for about 8 months until I consulted a doctor about it. And although I am not certain of how long I have not been ovulating I know I have not ovulated in at least 5 months since I have been using and ovulation scope and dipstick OV tests to check and never got a positive reading.

Thanks again to everyone who has been replying and stuff. :)
