Hello ladies,

I had my final appointment with the consultant yesterday and they confirmed my worst fear... UNEXPLAINED! In the words of the Dr " there is a problem but we do not know what it is" - fantastic! I am ovulating, in fact based on the results, I have good quality eggs, all the other tests were above average as were DH's sperm tests.

Yet despite this the Dr has prescribed us clomid. It was put to us that even though I am ovulating they will aim to get my body releasing two eggs instead of just one which increases the chance of pregnancy.

I am not too sure what to think. I know some people class me as lucky that there is nothing wrong but at least with a problem they know how and if it can be treated. I hate not knowing if its going to happen.

Does anybody who is unexplained and ovulating have a success story??

Hiya hun

I know exactly what you mean with the UNEXPLAINED, me and my DH were told this about 5.5 years ago and i was like AAARRRRGGGHHHHH! :haha: We decided to just keep trying and see what happens and after 2.5 years we conceived, unfortunately for us we lost our baby 3 years ago in september due to medical conditions.
We feel ready to try again now and the dr has pescribed me with clomid to try increase our chances, just finished my 1st cycle so im keeping my fingers crossed

I dont know if any of this has helped you.

Good luck :dust:

Oh my goodness I am so sorry to hear that. Life can be so so cruel at times.

Thanks for sharing and I am glad you are ready to again. I wish you all the luck and let me know how you get on with the Clomid

xx

We too are unexplained and the frustration of that is awful. There clearly is a problem otherwise I would be pregnant by now!! I think for myself that there is some sort of hormonal imbalance that is causing my issues but that it is just too finite for their tests to pick up. I ovulate although not regularly but because I do occasionally, my FS refused me clomid after I asked for it saying it would not help.

There seem to be massive discrepancies between clinics as to whether they prescribe clomid or not, I can't get my head around it!
