Clomid

Hello Ladies
Ive been reading your posts and felt like i had to reply to you all.
Im new to the site, been trying now for 3 years. Ive just finished a 3 month course of 50ml clomid so know a little about it. My problem is that i only ovulate every other month (which we found out only 6mths ago). However I still dont seem to be getting pregnant on the months that i do ovulate so the doc thought we'd try clomid.
With regards to all the side effects, please dont let this put you off. I have to admit, it wasn't the best three months of my life but nothing I couldn't handle, a little bit of sickness, nothing too bad but the main thing for me was the mood swings and the anxiety. It kind of feels like bad pmt! Its honestly still worth a go though, its hard work but not so bad that i wouldn't do it again!
Im now just hoping and have all fingers and toes crossed that i could be preggers this time....if not though-then, hey I can at least enjoy a glass of champers over Christmas!
My cousin knows three women who ALL caught on clomid and all within 6 mths of taking it, so Im going to keep trying with it.
Just remember, any drug you take has potential side effects, doesnt been they will happen! Don't be scared....GIVE IT A GO!!

Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Hi, I have been taking clomid for approx 1 year now. started on 50mg and didnt ovulate then was upped to 100mg which has worked for me since but still ttc. To be honest i havent really noticed any side effects at all. At first i was going for 4 blood tests a month day 5 (i think) day 21, day 28 and day 35 but now only go for 21 and 28. I have been ttc for approx 5 years now and only last year they actually gave me something to try (which was this clomid, got really excited when reading the success rates on this tablet but it hasnt worked for me). I am just hopeing that there is something else they can do for me, clomid seems to have got my monthly cycle back to normal but still no pregnancy :-(.
If you got any questions just ask, if i can help i will.

I am in the middle of my first round of Clomid. So far the side effects are hot flashes but the BEST advice I got from a girl on here was take it at night and sleep through the side effects and that is exactly what I did!
I do get hot flashes but by the time they start I am half way asleep and I take my feet out from under the covers.
Of course you should get all the tests you can done before you take clomid. In case its something easier to fix.
I look at it like this. I really want to be a mom. I will do whatever it takes and to me this is just another part of my journey!

Good luck~

I take it. I suffer from hot flashes and total bitchiness and I get really emotional for about two weeks a few days after stopping it. HOWEVER, I ovulated. And I wouldnt change that for anything. I gladly took it again this cycle and I feel ovulation is right around the corner!

hi girls , i'm new to this forum and i'd like to know where do you get your clomid pills?
I'm on my 2nd cycle and I'd like to find a place to get them cheaper. i know many people get them online but i don't know if that's safe
any advice?
thanks :winkwink:

I'm on my first round of 50mg. Last day. So far I've just been tired and had sore breasts. Some people get very moody with it so I'll wait and see if it happens. Oh and my pre o temps are really high

Hi

Clomid is meant to be prescribed by your doctor or fertility specialist and usual only when a problem has been identified.

Hi All

Im currently on clomid, 2nd month no joy as of yet, this month i ovulated late meaning AF was late, i got my hopes up but then hey there is always next month dont think i will take clomid this month naybe just leave it for a month.

Hey. When DH and I were TTC, I took clomid.
I think most OBs want you to be trying for at least a year before giving clomid a go. We'd been TTC for about 18 months before we got our first round. I started off at 50mg (days 3-7) and gradually increased to 150mg. We conceived on our fifth cycle.

I didn't experience any bad side effects. The only 'new' symptom I got was ovulation cramping-- but that's because I didn't ovulate before taking clomid! Other than that, just normal AF symptoms.

If you have any other questions, you can PM me and I'll do my best to help from my experiences. Good luck! FX'ed for your BFP! :hugs:

I only tried for 4 months before my DR gave me clomid..

Hi Ladies,

I'm on my first cycle of Clomid, I was really dreading the side effects, but I have been quite lucky I suppose. The only REALLY bad side effect I had was really bad nausea and vomiting 2 days before and up until O, and nausea on and off since (I am currently 8dpo)

I had hot flushes for about 2 nights (I was taking the tablets at 7pm) during the time I was taking them, but it was nothing to write home about, and I probably wouldn't even have noticed if I wasn't a compulsive symptom spotter!!!

Did you doctor perform any blood tests or anything prior to prescribing clomid? And when on it, were there any routine blood tests to see if it was working?

These are all the tests we had done.

*Laparoscopy
*Hysteriosalpingogram
*Loads and Loads of Blood tests
*OH sperm analysis

I have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. It took many years of TTC before I was given Clomid. I have been TTC for 9+ years.

The clinic I attend does not do scans to check follicles, but I have a CD21 blood test for 2 reasons, one is to check progesterone levels to see if I ovulated or not, and secondly to check that my ovaries have not been over stimulated.
I would NOT recommend prescribing your self Clomid, unless under the care of a FS, Especially as the risk of OHSS (Ovarian HyperStimulation Syndrome) is very serious.

Thanks Bears!

I have PCOS and paid for a private ultrasound on Friday which confirmed this, and the sonographer backed it up by saying he recommends clomid in order for me to conceive. I haven't begun the process of seeing a GP about TTC yet but my mother needed clomid to conceive both me and my brother so I'm guessing it's going to be the same thing for me too, especially as I don't appear to ovulate on my own. Will get myself booked in ASAP!

I started my first pull last night... I never sweat so bad in my life last night lol

But I figure I'll be sweating with pregnancy so I'm good with that as my only side effect thus far!

(50mg)

Hello ladies, I started clomid(50mg) yesterday, first cycle and so far I haven't noticed any side effects....I hope it stays this way....I wish all you ladies luck with lots of :dust:!!!!

I have one more day and then I will be finished taking my first round of Clomid pills. I really have not had any side effects (which is so abnormal for me and medication). It's been awesome. I did feel a little cramping at night and I think I may be warmer than normal (because I am always cold and when taking clomid I am not cold at all). Fingers crossed it works.

Good luck to everyone starting Clomid! I got great news yesterday! I have 1 big follicle on my right ovary! *crossing my fingers*

baby dust to you all ladies!

This is my first cycle of clomid, taking 1/2 tablet days 4-8. On CD 12, i went in for a blood test and my estrogen levels were 854 which is way higher than usual. Went back for another blood test and ultrasound yesterday. Nurse said i have 1 mature follicle measuring 18. When they rang me in the afternoon, they said i was surging yesterday and to also have intercourse today. That makes ovulation at day 13 instead of day 18 as it normally is. i put this down to clomid. so far no side effects.

Also decided to try pre-seed this cycle. tried it last night and it was amazing. Didnt know it could be so good. My husband is now in love with this product.

As a bonus, the nurse said i didnt need the booster injection as my body was doing it itself! YAY!!

My question is has anyone been successful on clomid or know someone that was successful and how many cycles did it take. Im feeling so hopeful again. i dont want to get ahead of myself, but i feel that this may be the month (month 13)
