So I've been using TB Easyfits for 6 months now with no issues whatsoever (and love them), but suddenly LO has awful nappy rash all over - front and back (looks a bit like heat rash).

I thought it might be teething or thrush (I was on antibiotics), but we've just been away for a long weekend (with no washing machine) so we used sposies and it cleared up. Was using cream prescribed by doc in case it was thrush, so thought that was what helped. But today have had LO back in easyfits and the rash is back :growlmad:

I have washed all the nappies at 60 on a proper wash (not quick wash, which is what I used before and again thought could be a cause), but that hasn't helped.

We use fairy non-bio to wash, and I only use a small amount (less than a quarter of the dispenser thing).

I've been doing the same thing for 6 months and this is only a problem now. Any suggestions?

Have you done a strip wash? I'd guess that the quick wash doesn't wash them well enough and probably doesn't rinse well enough either, so you have detergent clogging up the nappies and trapping bacteria.

Nope - no strip wash, mainly because I didn't know about it :haha:

Just googled it and will try that now - thanks

I'd definitely try a strip wash, and if it doesn't work try stuffing them a bit more :)

I'd have thought the strip wash would help.

have you checked her gums for teeth......... its very common for babies to get nappy rash when teething

it's also helpful to maintenance wash your washing machine before doing a strip wash too.

also just a note: too little detergent is as bad as too much.

Though honestly in terms of timing - Teething could also be a major culprit! Q had horrid rashes during teething.

I heard that fungal spores can get trapped in cloth and don't get killed during washing at 40. So the rash might disappear when you switch to sposies but come back with cloth. Have you tried washing at 60 and add half a cup of vinegar to your rinse cycle?

Try using antifungal cream and continue to use it for 3 -4 days after the rash has cleared.
