Do you use separate ones for poo and hands/ faces? And how do you wash them- what temp/ do you use dettol etc? I've just bought some, I use disposable nappies so I'm new to this

I have cloth wipes that I use exclusively for bum wipes, not for hands/face even when freshly laundered. I have seperate bamboo face clothes for bathing and wiping baby down. We use cloth diapers so I wash the wipes with the diapers (cold rinse, hot wash) but if I used disposable diapers I would probably wash the wipes seperately in their own load, or at least rinse them out if I was going to wash them with other laundry.

We have about 100 junior joy wipes from eBay for nappy changes and some cheap coloured microfibres wipes for hands and faces now we are weaning. Hand and face wipes go in wash with clothes they are usually all covered in the same orange food lol. Nappy wipes go in on their own or with cloth nappies at 60 with normal wash powder.

Eta: bum wipes are soaked in very dilute Milton or water with a bit of tea tree and lemon oil in in between being used and washed.

We use bamboo terry for bum, and microfibre for face/hands. The face wipes go in with the normal wash, and the bum wipes go in their own load (the intensive anti-stain programme) with non-bio detergent and a couple of capfuls of dettol laundry disinfectant.

We store clean ones dry and just wet with tap water as needed (ones for childminder sent freshly wetted and wrung out daily), and dirties are stored just damp in a plastic box, and I wash them once a week. I know some people have had problems with mould from doing that, but I never have  You can get an essential oil blend to soak the clean and dirty ones in, but I'm lazy...I did that for a couple of weeks and then stopped.

We too use disposable nappies, but found disposable wipes a total pain, and we're so glad we switched...only wish we'd done it sooner! Our friends and childminder think we're crazy, but who cares :haha: I'd like to cloth-bum #2 when the time comes, but I'm not sure DH would go for it, and not sure I could cope with the extra laundry, not with 2 kids! Anyway, I digress, I hope that was useful :flower:

I use Cheeky wipes; bamboo terry for bums and microfibre for face/hands. I bought the mini kit as I'm using cloth nappies too, and the clip box is just so handy to have! Definitely recommend the brand 100% and so glad I made the switch - one wipe nearly always does the job on its own. Plus no more dashes to shops for more wipes!

I use napisan and wash at 40degrees. I admit I'll wash everything baby together; clothes, bedding nappies, wipes, etc.

With my first baby, we used baby wash cloths for wipes and with my second baby, I sewed some flannel wipes. In the newborn phase, they were exclusively for poop-wiping. As time went on, they started being used for whatever. I don't tend to use them on faces and hands though. When I'm done wiping poop, I wash it with water, by hand, before tossing it in the laundry. I then just wash it with regular laundry detergent and I do all my laundry on cold.
