is your CM that changes during the month different to CM produced when aroused??

Yes. It can be similar, but fertile CM is stretchy and clear whereas arousal fluid is usually less sticky and stretchy. Fertile CM usually stretches with one strand apparently.

just yesterday after some manual relief i had huge amounts of EWCM, and i mean loads, very stretchy (5cm ish) and wondered if this was just cos of what i had been up to

yes you can get that after youve dtd or been aroused!
