hey ladies ,
i just wanted to share my experiance over the last 6 weeks with the above and maybe it might help a few ladies .

so my daughter is 6weeks and 3days and we have in the last week started to beat the above after refusing to leave the doctors with out anwsers.

my daughter has since she was born screamed during and for 2hrs after feed, since she was born never slept only about 3hrs a day would throw her milk up only drink 2oz at a time and just was not a happy baby .

being a first time mummy i thought this was how babies were but at 5weeks a hit breaking point and asked for some help on here thinking it was me as mum not doing the right things and u ladies give me some great advise the biggest been go to the doctors .

so last thursday off i went with a full list of everything that has been wrong ,the doctor was lovely but was fobbing me off a little and then my mummy powers kicked in and i said right im not leaving til u help and showed what my baby was like when feeding ,straight away i knew she wasnt going to fob me off anymore .

so my baby now has a milk intolernce to lactous and has reflux ,doctor give me lactous free milk on percription {its 8.99 a small tin on nhs and this i feel is a huge reason why doctors are fobbing mums off } with a list for natural cures for reflux i.e feeding her upright ,keeping her sat up for 30mins after feed and making her sleep on a incline {sleep surports can be found on kiddicare and are great } .

well if the space of 48hrs i had a different baby like someone had come in swapped her lol all her sickness went kept all bottles down 5oz a time and OMG she slept even 2hr naps .

im just letting you ladies know if your really struggling go to doctors and be firm because like i said doctors really dont like giving specialist milk out but its transformed my daughter and if it could help yours then be strong we pay taxes for a reason .

well really hope this helps anyone that might be in the same boat xxx

I am glad you got some help!

Being a nurse i give the gps all the answers when i go-they cant fob me off!

But so many people are fobbed off, it makes me cross:nope:

So many people get fobbed off by doctors with this. I've read countless stories of babies with CMPI and reflux, who have had to battle to get treatment. I think part of the problem is GPs are often unconfident in dealing with baby related issues, and don't want to make a misdiagnosis, so babies are labelled with 'colic' when it's often something else. There is also the cost factor. Holly is on an elemental formula for her CMPI. It costs £35 for a small tin which lasts about 3 days  It's obviously a huge cost to the NHS, so it's often a postcode lottery as to whether or not you'll be willingly prescribed it.

Me being one of those mummys who are fobbed off :( x
