Really need to get round to packing my hospital bag this week but I'm unsure what clothes to pack for after a cesarean?

Guessing that I will be in nightie and gown for first couple of days whilst at the hospital, but what should I pack to come home in???

It will be too cold for a dress really but will trousers with a waistband be ok or will they cause agony???

Any advice would be much appreciated pleeeaase!!!

I would suggest just some loose comfy sweat pants.

I've been trying to decide this for myself too. I had a c-section with my last child and I think I did wear pants home. They were very loose fitting and light weight. Trying to decide what to pack this time has been hard because the weather were I live could be hot or cold in mid-November. I am thinking of going with some over-sized jogging type pants for this time.

Oh god I don't own a tracksuit!! Lol

rememver you will still be as big are you were at about 6 months pregnant, so loose, and high waist banded trousers will be best.

Scrubs! The pants at least and a comfy shirt. I've had 2 sections and they are the best pants you could ever wear right after. I lived in them!

I'm going home in sweat pants.. I am able to wear them now and they have a draw string waist so I'll just tighten them appropriately. As for a top, going with 3/4 length sleeves, thin jersery knit. I'll get DH to bring me a fleece if it's too cool. Make sure you pack plenty of loose fitting undies too! Nightie is a great idea, I did that last time around but this time I'm being brave and going with loose pj jersery pants and top.

I am going to come home in a dress, like last time. It will be a colder month, but I remember how sore I was before and can't take the thought of pants.

I dont own tracksuit bottoms so i am thinking i will prob wear my loose black pj bottoms home. Lol. Only gona be from hospital to taxi taxi to house. Or maybe over bump leggings if can get in them.

Im thinking probably leggings and big tee shirt or jumper. This is my 3rd section and I cant remember for the life of me what I wore for the other 2. Saying that though I have some lovely pj bottoms, although they dont look like pj's just joggers from Asda and they are so comfy now so may just wear those instead and go home like a tramp :) lol

I packed light as our hospital has very little storage space beside the beds!!!

I came home in the same clothes I went in wearing - jeans and a jumper! :flower:

I think I wore tracksuit bottoms the last 2 times...but saw so many mum's going home in their pj's...I am tempted to do that myself this time :haha: Afterall, I will only be walking from the maternity exit to the car!!

i will prob just wear my pjs, my jeans last time really dug in to my scar. make sure you have a dressing over the stitches when you put trousers on, it will save you the discomfort

Loose clothing would be best and granny pants with a high waist line (or as I've seen some women swear by on these forums) a pair of men's boxer shorts for comfort!

Primark have loads of loose Pj bottoms that are dirt cheap - I got a black pair for less than a fiver and they kinda just look like trackie bottoms
