Ok so I am now 33 weeks pregnant. I have gained a total of 43 pounds!!!! I am tall - ish about 5'6 almost 5'7. When I got pregnant I was fit and weighed 150 and now I'm at 193!! It was a shock and I still can't believe I will be weighing over 200 by the end of this:cry:!!! I can tell I have gained weight but I don't feel like I'm huge so who knows.. just praying I can get it off fast after baby!! Where are you ladies at? Hopefully my post made you feel better!!

I'm up 28 pounds. I have 8 weeks and 2 days to go, and my goal was only to gain 7 more pounds (for 35 as goal). But don't think I'll be making that. I just ate a huge chocolate muffin and I am finding that I want sweets every day now instead of as a treat  But I have been finding time to go to the gym-makes my body feel better-so that may help me in these last several weight filled weeks-here's hoping! I'm sure you will lose the weight fine-the body gains what it needs to gain:flower:

I am currently 33 weeks also and have gained a total of 35lbs so far I'm now weighing in at a whooping 218lbs I didn't think much of it since I am a tall girl and wasn't skinny to begin with I'm 5'11'' but I recently changed my OB and on our first visit wanted to walk out of his office screaming and crying as he read me the riot act bout how iv already gained too much weight and that it is "unacceptable"..... I passed my glucos test don't have high blood pressure and for the most part am in good shape but after that visit I honestly am scared to gain more weight...... But I refuse to watch everything I eat I'm pregnant for Gods sake let me be!!!!

If your doctors aren't worried about your weight gain, don't worry about it, either. The reason I say that is that your baby accounts for some of the weight (5-8 pounds), so does the amniotic fluid (2 pounds), placenta (2 pounds), and your enlarged breasts (1-2 pounds). Add to that any water you happen to be retaining (I literally "gained" 4 pounds between when I was first weighed at my midwives, and then when I came back and was weighed again TWO DAYS later. I was weighed again 4 days after that and had miraculously "lost" that weight and was told it was water retention and I'd believe it baby because I've been swollen like crazy!) Some of it is going to be actual weight gain that yes, you're going to need to lose after the baby if you want to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight, but if you're breastfeeding, that helps burn calories, carrying baby helps burn calories, etc. So try not to focus so much on the numbers. It's hard for me to say exactly what I've gained in this pregnancy because my weight fluctuates SO MUCH with how much water and fluid I am retaining but I know I've gained a lot and I know I'll have a lot of weight to lose, but I also know that the amount of weight I'll need to lose is less than the number I'm thinking with because really some of that weight is purely baby related and not fat related. You know what I mean?

So don't worry sweetheart :hugs:

I'm almost in the exact same boat as you. I'm 32 weeks, 5'6, My prepregnancy weight was around 155-160 and I'm at 194 now :/ I was trying to lose weight before I got pregnant, so gaining this much has been kinda rough on me. My doc hasn't mentioned anything about my weight except I did "really good" the past two weeks cause I only put on 2 pounds.

I've gained 36lbs despite being really careful this time

When I had DD I instantly lost about 10lbs, followed by another 15lbs over the following week which I presume was retained water. So going by that I'm not too worried.

With my first 2 pregnancies I gained 45lbs total, and I'm obese to start with. The weight came off without any trying at all within a few months though. Don't worry =)

This time around I *was* doing really well, had only gained 10 lbs by 35 weeks. Unfortunately I seem to have gained another 4 lbs in the last week and a half alone. Less pleased about that =/

I was going to post about weight today and then saw your post.

I'm so scared as to the amount I'll need to lose when I give birth. I'm almost 32 weeks and only 5'2. I refuse to weigh myself as a huge part will be baby, water and placenta. This doesn't stop me worrying.

I've put on around the same, maybe a little bit more and I still have a way to go. I put on and lost three stone first pregnancy, so although I'm annoyed at myself (I do eat for two) I know I'll get it off afterwards. It took me a year though and I BF for all that time and it didn't help one bit! I am around the same weight now that I was six weeks postpartum, I can't figure out if that's means I'm doing better or worse this time around!

I am just over 36 weeks and have gained 37lb so far. My goal was 35lb in total. But I just can't seem to stop eating Easter Eggs!!! It's a real problem! I've had to replace 5 that I had bought for other people already, and goodness knows how many more I will eat by Sunday! I just want chocolate!!!

I am also 5ft 6 and weighed 140lb before I got pregnant. But with my first I put on just over 4 stone, and it took me until the month before I fell pregnant again, to get all the weight off! Sooo not looking forward to dieting after this baby is born :(

I crumbled and weighed myself. I've gained around 20lbs so far at 32 weeks. I'm only 5'2.

I've been reading posts on other sites about other ladies who put on up to 70lbs. So can we expect to lose around 10-14lbs before leaving the hospital. Does anyone know.

I just made a thread about this too! I am 5'7", almost 33 weeks pregnant and also have gained 40 damn pounds!!

I also used to be fit and healthy. Ran and exercised all the time. Have been eating pretty healthy this entire pregnancy with the exception of an occasional junk food item. I walk 1-2 miles a day.

Still cannot believe I have also gained 40#....

My midwife and my doctor have both said that it's a lot of fluid in the last few weeks. I lost a pound in a week and gained 3 lbs this last week. The only thing I've really changed is I'm drinking more water. I guess it's a lot of fluids shifting and swelling and all that good stuff. It's hard to see the higher numbers on the scale, but I'm really trying to be laid back about it. Hoping I'll pee and sweat it out after delivery :)

I'm 30+2 and i'm up 21 lbs... My doctor had said she only wanted me to gain 25-30 but i'm not sure.. I'm thinking 35 might be more likely. Here lately all I want to eat is JUNK! I used to eat SO healthy, and now I just want sugar all the time.

5'6.5" and i've gained almost 42lb this time around so far. not exactly been "good" though, so that's a lot to blame for it... and recently diagnosed gestational diabetic also.

last time, i gained 22lb (but i was very much heavier pre-preg back then) and i lost it all within a week, between baby, placenta, fluids etc. gives me a rough idea as to how much "extra" i'll have to shift after that.

with my DD I started off at 170 or so and was up to 218 the day I gave birth. I was down to 150 when I got pregnant this time around and have probably gained 30-40 so far (I've given up paying attention). If you plan on breastfeeding a lot of the weight will come off very quickly. I never went on a diet or anything after birth and just walked and did other exercise here and there. I think pregnancy and birth regulated my hormones (was on BC pills for 10+ years prior). Plus having a baby/toddler to run after helps!

I'm in the exact same boat! I'm 5ft7 and started out at 147lbs and now weigh 186. Im 32 weeks and that puts me at a 39lb weight gain.... I have 6 weeks until my csection. I'm trying so hard to cut most carbs out, and focus just on veggies and protein. So hard though:( with my first pregnancy I was 215lbs when I gave birth. With my 2nd pregnancy I was 186lbs at full term. So this pregnancy is somewhere in the middle. Goodness the weight gain is hard. Hang in there momma, you're not alone!!

Thanks for sharing and all the support ladies <3 pregnancy does a lot to you, and your mental state. I guess I was just freaking out because I gained 34 pounds with my first little one total, and I was able to get in better shape by 6 months after then before I had her, but I'm five years older and will now have two kids and a lot going on.. I'm sure I will find a balance and the time to workout, just gotta stop stressing and enjoy my last few weeks of food freedom I think!

I'm 37 weeks and am currently up 32 lbs. I was prob 10 lbs over weight to start.
I honestly think your body dictates the weight gain (within reason)
My first pregnancy I ate loads and put on 35lbs, this time I'm eating half the amount and I'll be up at least 35lbs again.

My friend put on 70lbs and lost it within 9 months without any extreme dieting. Just being fairly healthy. I think the important thing is just to lose it before you become pregnant again. I think that's where some people struggle long term

I gained 50lbs in this pregnancy had baby one week ago and I've already lost like 30lbs (roughly I know in stones and lbs but not just lbs ) in stones I went from 7 stone 8 to 11 stone dead on the day I had her now I'm down to 9 stone already and I'm hoping the rest doesn't take too long to come off I'll give it a month or so and if it hasn't come off by then I'll make an effort to get it off but until then I'm not too bothered it doesn't look too bad ATM x
