Lactulose (sp) can help make the stools softer. To be honest my MW said to drink loads of water, a glass or two of pure orange for the fibre and keep up a good diet with loads of fruit and veg. I have found all the about works, a fruit smoothie can be good too xx

I got Fybogel from my GP. You mix the powder into water and drink quickly. The orange flavour is the easiest to stomach. It does help move things along, takes a few days to work tho. Hope it helps her, I know how horrible it is!

Eat lots of fruit with skins on like apples, plums, grapes, for the fiber content, also sipping hot water really helped me. I'm suffering with it quite badly but these things seem to get things moving. Also bran flakes are good.

Another thing, don't try and force yourself to "go" if nothing is happening and strain too hard or you run the risk of piles, if you keep eating high fiber content food something should happen eventually.xxx

Thanks ladies! Will pass all ur advice on
