On Friday night while sleeping I started getting cramping in the lower part of my uterus and backache that came and went. Saturday it was pretty much gone except for a little backache. Last night I had a lot of period type cramping and backache that has been pretty constant all day. I don't think its contractions because I really get no relief. The worst of it is the backache. I had a bm and it helped relieve some of the backache but its still there and very uncomfortable. Is this normal part of pregnancy? I figure its just my uterus growing to accomadate LO. but I want to check and see what you ladies have experienced?

As early as it is for you, I would call the MW. Early per term labor can feel like backache.

I had that a lot this past week. I talked to my Dr and he said it is normal at this point in the pregnancy (35 weeks) but I would still let your Dr/Midwife know. One of the things my Dr mentioned was that I have had a very healthy pregnancy thus far so my chances of pre-term labor are very slim.

One thing that has helped with the backache is a heating pad and using my exercise ball. For the cramps, keeping well hydrated has worked fairly well though doesn't completely get rid of them.

I had this and actually went to L&D only to find out it was a bladder infection. It's worth getting checked out. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks for your replies ladies :hugs: I took a Tylenol an laid down on a heating pad for about and hour and half in different positions and that seemed to help a lot. I feel much better now. If i'm hurting again tomorrow I will call the drs office and see what he suggests.

I had a recent appt this past Thursday where I was checked for vaginal infection and bladder/uti issues because I was complaining of pain in the vagina. I ended up with a small yeast infection that I took suppositories for over the weekend. It seemed to do the trick over the weekend on the vaginal pain. At the time my cervix was closed and everything looked good up in there. So hopefully its just the LO growing.

I had this on Friday. I would urge you to see doc straight away. I have a uti which could have led to bladder infection if not caught early enough. Bladder infections can trigger preterm labour.
