I have just recieved a letter through the post for an appointment with the consultant of obstetrics and I am not sure why? Originally I thought it was my scan appointment but then wondered why a consultant :(

I have previously suffered from depression, but would I need to see a psychiatrist consultant about this.

I just thought I would post on here, and see what other people think.

Thanks in advance :thumbup:

is you BMI high? i have to see a consultant as they found a lump on my thyroid last year and they are worried that all the hormones will kick things off again.

Why dont you give them a call and ask, or call you midwife and she will explain.

Phone them up and ask them. If you are on anti depressants at the moment that could be one explantion (happened to my friend) but i would call anyway x

Could be a number of things, high bmi, low bmi, previous losses, meds during pregnancy, birth defects in your family

X

I've had depression in the past hun, and I was asked to see a consultant when I was pregnant with my son. I was just asked how I was feeling, when I was last on any medication, when I last felt depressed... I was in there about ten minutes tops :)

Thanks for all your replies.

I aint bin on meds for over 6 months, but my BMI was 33 at my last appointment, i didnt think about that! Thanks guys.

As you can probably tell I am a worrier :S
:hugs::winkwink:

I've been referred to a consultant because of my heart murmur, which I knew was going to happen, but I was a little surprised to see my appointment will be with Obs and Gynae rather than a heart specialist. I'm still assuming it's because of my condition though.

(PS noticed you're from Mexborough - that's where my dad went to school. My nannan lives in Conisbrough)
