Had my appointment with consultant and scan today. Scan was all good LO measuring approx 6lb2oz  so no growth concrens and hes still head down :happydance::happydance:.

Consultant not so good.... I can have my VBAC as long as I go on or before my due date!! I have another appointment at 40+1 to book C/S, they want me in as soon as anything starts, no induction (not too bothered about that though as I didnt want it) and no intervention to help things along. They will pull the plug at the first sign of anything including slow progress! I just know they will say getting to 4cm is taking too long or something daft like that. They want me to be ready for theatre with IV access as soon as I go in and an epi in place...

They were pulling out all the stops to get me to book a C/S, telling me risk of rupture is about 1:200 for 1 previous C/S halved to 1:100 in my case coz Ive had 2... err WTF this doesnt match the figures I have been given or read about???

Talk about setting me up to fail?? I am seeing the consultant midwife on Monday to go through my birth plan so hopefully she will be able to help me with some of these issues :nope:

Sorry for the rant girls :blush:

Gosh were they trying to scare you off!!! Think they should of been positive if thats what you want.

I dont understand why different area's have such different policies... my friend had an emergency c-section first time round and didnt want a vbac the second time but had to practically beg for another section. Infact her midwife at her last appointment said 'well he's head down already to go, so your cutting him out for no reason' which i thought was disgusting.

Big hugs ..... think positive .... if that is how you want to labour then you go for it, you CAN do it!!! xxx

Just noticed your in West Yorkshire, where abouts? I'm in Bradford but i'm going to Calderdale this time.

Yeah I think they were even DH said they were clutching at straws to give any reason for booking me in. I feel so let down how hard would it have been to be a bit supportive???

I dont understand it either surely these things should be the same across the board??? I would have been a bit pee'd if I was your friend I know I have been upset by all the pushing Ive had to do to get top where I am!!

And thanks I am positive at the moment and I think the m/w Monday will be ok as she was brill last time I saw her xx

My friend went to bradford.... how weird that only a few miles apart they would be so different.

Calderdale, from what i've seen so far, far out does bradford, i've had a couple of bad experiences at bradford so thats why i changed but even the hospital seems to be so much better. The bradford midwives dont like that i'm going there though, like i've personally done something wrong to them!!!!

I've had both mine in Calderdale and I think it is nice, the midwives are nice (well they were 8yr ago lol) and it is modern. You will like it... she says after moaning about the consultants :haha::haha:

LOL the only time i've actually been made to wait for hours there is to see a consultant, the midwives have sonographers have been great!!!

Watch out for the parking ATM took me 25mins yesterday!!! I think I might ask on Monday how early I can have a sweep, I know it might not work but Ive got to try everything lol
