Hi,

I have my scan next week with a consultant. I have a BMI of 36. What will happen at the appointment? I'm so nervous ..... x

Same here my bmi was 36. I had a scan today unfortunately baby was too active to get measurements so back for another scan on Wednesday.

I have my consultants apt on Tuesday, I don't think he will be giving me a scan, its more for him to monitor my pregnancy (I also have had cervical issues in the past). My midwife said its more procedure, just need a little more monitoring as potentially could have a bigger baby and pregnancy complications.

I wouldn't worry too much they just have to go through certain things with you to show they are doing extra monitoring x

I'm having consultant led care as well, but for a different reason. I've got my first appointment on 2nd July, I'm seeing the consultant and then a scan. I'm not sure exactly what they will do. Good luck tho I'm sure it will be fine. X

I got told ill have consultant led care too.. I had high bp throughout last pregnancy and failed to progress during induced labour so ended up having an emergency c section.. got ill have a medical at 16 weeks

Im consultant led too due to previous big baby, gestational diabetes and breech caesarean section, oh also BMI of 40 ish. Anything else they want to add?! LOL

Im consultant led too due to high bmi. I was with my last pregnancy and i had appointments with consultant just to keep an eye on me. and had a few growth scans...I feel like cos you have a high bmi they assume you will get gest diabetes ect. My last pregnancy was fine. No gest diabetes, a little high blood pressure towards end and normal labour (induced) baby was 7lb14oz. :) hope all goes well this time too. x

Me too..coz my bmi 33 and last baby was a failed induction and emergency c section and 2 litre blood loss...I feel nervous about being consultant led care....dont know why...

Consultant led here because I'm a fatty! :haha: BMI 33 too. PreEcclampsia and Csection last time. I WANT A VBAC this time!!! :)
