consultant led care- advice plz

So since 27 weeks ( when i went into hosp down to reduced movement ) ive been under both consultant + midwife led care which has confused me loads.

Last time i had a check up at hospital, they arranged an appt for the day after my due date ( today ).

Basically, different mw's have told me different reasons for this appt:

scan
sweep
plan induction

Does anybody know what this appt could be for?? x

I only know that there is a 40 wk check in my notes ( mine is thurs) and i think it is just a check up and a discussion on what happens when you go overdue etc...

I don't have consultant led care just midwife so am not sure of the difference if any.

my consultant said if i'd gone for VBAC that he'd see me at 40 weeks to discuss what would happen next with another section ect if went to 41 weeks so would probably be induction and stuff? maybe they may give you a sweep i'm not sure x

im trying to think of a reason why they should induce me...today!!!! lol

Do you think they would possibly do it if there was a good enough reason??
