Contraceptive Implant

Hi Ladies,

I have my second contraceptive implant in (due to be removed Jan 2016) and I don't have periods while being on it. In fact I haven't had a period since 2009!!!

Quick question though, I can't find it in my arm, we have literally searched all over and we just can't find it. I knew when she'd put it in (trainee did it!) that it was too deep but they said it was fine....

Last week I went to the toilet to find I was having some odd symptoms. It looked like a show (when your in labour) as in jelly type discharge but it was tinted with blood. It looked like my noopy had sneezed! haha

If it has moved, will it still be working? I'm panicking and can't really find anything online.....

I'm on my second one too, it's never moved far but it has wiggled up my arm a bit. But as always the best thing to do is check with your doctor. I think it should still be effective but you need to know it hasn't snapped or anything.

As you're in the uk you could phone nhs direct. if they think it's a problem they will get you an emergency appointment at a walk-in centre.
