Copper coil and AF

Just a quick question about the coil for those with copper/non-hormonal coil...

Have you found that AF has lasted longer since you have had it?

Ive had mine over a year, and last month AF was 13 days, and this month we are on day 12 (but not heavy, just light) Before this it was 5 days normally.

Yes definitely longer although not longer than 7 days and the first and last couple of days are barely anything so it doesn't bother me, 2 weeks is a pain though? Sorry for TMI but I always seem to take a while except when I'm on the pill, after both boys it was past 7 weeks before I stopped bleeding (before I had the coil)

Its not bad or anything, not heavy after day 3/4. I wouldnt complain as I know people have it worse, its just annoying

I was scared to open the spoiler then haha. I know what you mean it's annoying being out of commission for so long, maybe mention it to the dr, I am taking that pill that stop periods next week as I know it'll interrupt out anniversary night away even though it should be day 6 by then lol.

I had mine in 6 weeks after Connor so will be 2 years in April, my periods are a little longer and I'd say a little more sore and heavy. Other than that I absolutely love this form of contraception x

Going against the grain but mine are short,light and regular.

Ive had mine 6 months. I find i spot for a couple days then have super heavy bleed for 3 days then back to spotting. Lasting any where from 4-10 days in total when used to be 5 days everytime.

Same for me. Mine tend to last 5 or 6 days (used to be 6 to 7) and it's light for 2 days then medium for 2 and light for the rest. I used to be heavy for all of it except the first and last days.

I think I am gonna see how long the next AF is, if its 13 days will go see the Dr who put it in.

I did wonder if it was caused by something other than the coil? I have a couple of other issues too which have appeared over several months


This cycle as well I seem to be spotting (not much but its there), ARGH! Just annoying.
