I am 9 weeks along, and have started to go through the massive folder with a million pamphlets in it. I came across this one called Cord Blood Banking. It says its easy, once the baby is born, the cut the cord and the doctor places it in a baggy and sends it off to be frozen I suppose?

My question to you is, have you done this?
Is it worth doing, in your opinion?
Was it pricy?

From my understanding it is to help your baby if it should fall ill in the future. It mentions using stem cells from the cord to help fight off diseases and illnesses, even cancer.

My last question is:
Does your cord blood go to anyone that matches or is in need, or just to you and your child when in need. The pamphlet is very vague, and I wanted to hear from personal experiences.

Thanks :)
