I'm going to make a hotpot for tea tomorrow night and was wondering if it would be ok to give Charlie a little bit?? I was going to make it with corned beef but I have a feeling that it could be quite salty?? I haven't got a tin in the cupboard else I would have checked. Anyone know if its ok for him to have? Also has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can put in hotpot instead of gravy, coz the gravy will be too salty for LO???? Thanks all. xxx

We had corned beef the other night. I let Gabriel have a little bit. He liked the cabbage more.

I'd say corned beef is ok, it's not like you're going to do it every day! Personally I'd just use low salt gravy, and if necessary add some milk/creme fraiche/yoghurt to LO's portion before serving, which will mean he can have a little bit of gravy without going OTT with it.

You can get heinz baby stock cubes that you can use to make suitable gravy x

We have corned beef hash occasionally, I know it is quite high in salt but she has it with unseasoned mash and some grated cheese which I feel balances it out.

For the gravy, could you make your own and not season it until you have taken LO's portion out?
