I had all the possible symptoms of pcos (weight gain,hirutism- face,stomach,everywhere..its a nightmare,waxing/removing often, skin darkening, etc) other than irregular periods when i went for the ultrasound in february. The doc did an internal and external ultrasound and tested for FSH, Thyroid and testerone and ruled out pcos. Now since April,i have been having irregular periods and late ovulation..Im just wondering whether they missed out something.I have every symptom in the PCOS book and i know either im not ovulating / very late ovulation.Im tired of temping with such long cycles.Btw i came off bcp in Nov(was on it only for 3 weeks).I had a regular 30 day cycle till then.

Any ladies with pcos who can shed some light on this please:wacko:

the fact that they did an U/S and blood tests I would think it would be hard to miss it.
You can always get tested again.....or ask about your results, as in what your numbers were and what normal is concidered.

I guess i did not ask that.Well there should be some other reason for my irregular cycles right and infertility other than husbands low sperm count. We ve been ntnp for 2 years and actively ttc for about 6 months.
But i was just wondering are these the normal tests for pcos.Is there anything else i should ask my fs for.

Thank u for replying, this wait for af is endless and depressing:nope: i dont want to cry.My youngest cousin who got married 6 months back is pregnant and another one is having her second.I dread meeting anyone and my in laws are so rude..

it could also be progesterone issues

Hey Jwelmel,

I can understand how frustrated you must feel, think it is usually pretty clear from blood tests/scan if you have PCOS, but then my doc told me my blood tests were normal and when I finally got referred, the specialist was shocked he'd said that as they were totally abnormal!! Docs are rubbish! My in laws are a nightmare too, keep saying why aren't we having a baby etc etc! Its so hard!

Wishing you loads of luck on your ttc journey x x x x:thumbup:
