Could this be right??

Hi ladies
Sorry in advance for my long winded story! I MC'd end ofn
August and attended hospital 10 days later for scan which confirmed MC was complete and midwife advised we could try again as soon as we felt ready. Went home and later that day did an OPK (clear blue digital) which was positive. DTD 3 times over the course of the following two days.

Forward to week later - did HPT which was positive (although v faint) - rang hospital who advised to come on for blood test however tested 2 days later and HPT negative. I was gutted but thought that at least we would know that the next positive HPT would be a definite positive and not have to worry that it was residual hcg from Mc.

For some reason, on Monday this week I did another HPT. Unsurprisingly, it was negative, later that day had a bit of browny discharge which I thought was probably AF on her way. I've been feeling crampy all week so did another HPT last night and it was positive! Couldn't believe but did another one tonight and same result!

My question is though, can I get excited? Does this sound like the real deal? Im desperately trying not to get too excited but would nice to have some good news!

Honestly if you saw negative tests and then saw the positive I would say youre most likely pregnant! Best of luck to you and keep us updated!

So you MC end of Aug. had a negative test, and then a few days/weeks later you had a positive?? If you did have a negative test already then HCG was most likely out of your system, how far along were you?? So it is possible that you are pregnant. But the only way to know for sure is to have serial bloods drawn. Fingers crossed for you!!! Oh, and can you post a pic in the pregnancy test subforum, so we can have a gander? GL! I hope that this is it for you!

Thanks for replying! Had negative tests a week today and on Monday night. Both of my positive hpts were quite faint so worried still residual hcg surfacing? My head is mush right now but I'm trying to prepare for disappointment whilst hoping for the best. I was 5w5 when I mc (4 weeks ago today)

I'll post photo of next HPT if it's still looking good. I'm going to test tomorrow and try to get some bloods taken.

At 5w the HCG you have in your system would be gone fairly quickly. I hope this is it for you!!!! Hugs!! KUP!

Since it was so close to the negative I would advise getting bloods done. Most likely this is a new pregnancy and then at least you'll know all is well!

Hi ladies - still trying to get photo downloaded. I'm on my iPad so as soon as I get access to a proper computer I'll stick pic on. Did another couple of tests yesterday - both positives but, no two ways abt it, they were faint. I also made the stupid mistake of using different brands so probably not much point in comparing them? I'm still feeling bit crampy but not as much and breasts are wee bit sore now which they never are for AF.

I've decided not to test again for another 3/4 days if I can restrain myself but can 4 tests be wrong?

I'm pretty sure the positive tests are detecting hcg. The question is whether this is new or old hcg. Most likely it is new since you had a negative test since your m/c. However, I still believe that most doctors would still run tests to check all is well and to rule out the remote chance an ectopic was missed at your scan. Especially considering the fact that you've had some spotting. I'm no medical professional though so please don't let me frighten you when I write the word ectopic. It is most unlikely, just something I know they like to rule out.

Have you called your midwife/doctor yet to let them know the good news? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is a sticky one for you fxfxfx

Don't worry about worrying me Petipas it's nothing that I've not considered already! Although when I went for a scan the midwife had a quick look at my ovaries, tubes etc and said everything as it should be.

Will test again either tomorrow or Tuesday but definitely change in breasts that even my DH's noticed. I'm hoping it's not in my head and maybe he's only agreeing with me for a quiet life!

We were tic for 15 mths before MC so I'm really hoping I'm not letting my imagination run away with me.

I'll try ringing the EPAU tomorrow but tricky phoning from my work.

Sad update ladies - after a total of 5 positive tests, I started bleeding last night. I knew a couple of hours before that things weren't right (had exactly same feeling the day my last mc started - not pain or anything - I just knew, if that makes sense).

Still bleeding pretty heavily so its game over for me - presume this is a chemical?

At the moment I'm pretty sure I want to start trying ASAP - that feeling of emptiness is pretty soul destroying but will see if I feel the same nearer the right time.
