Hi was just wondering if any one has ay advice on cradle cap? I have bought the dentinox shampoo but it has made calebs head worse:dohh:. I have been told to use baby oil, has any one else used this. Any advice would help thanks xx

yep we use baby oil and a baby comb in the bath and it gets rid of it really well xx

p.s make sure u rinse all the oil out other wise u will have greasy baby hair lol xx

Andrew's only had it slightly, and we've used baby oil & a soft brush hours later.

the routine i did with it took a couple of days but got rid of it all. Baby oil in the hair overnight then the next morning a soft brush took most of it out, bath, hair washed, then repeated the following night.

I did this for both my kids and it worked a treat x

I've tried olive oil which did nothing and then got some dentinox which has made his scalp all dry. Lots of his hair fell out too :(

We did olive oil overnight then combed it out in the morning. It did the trick pretty quickly!

Found olive oil helped soften it but did then need to gently lift it with a comb or brush otherwise you just get a congealed mess on the head - not much of an improvement!

Some kids do seem more determined to hold onto it though. DS still has some residual patches and he's just turned 3....

well i've just bought a brush cos i didn't have one. Caleb's having a bath tonight so will try the oil and brush tonight. Did you shampoo hair first or just use the baby oil? X

We tried Dentinox, but it didn't help really.

We now are using Boots Cradle Cap Cream...has helped loads!

It's in a lilac coloured tube and box.

ive tried everything on kye and nothing has worked. i took him to the doctors who prescribed a shampoo called Capsucal (something like that) and then use epaderm cream on afterwards when the hair is dry, his is nearly cleared now!! yay!!

I had the same experience with the shampoo, it got really bad. I just used a sponge with water and some gentle scrubbing. Took me a month to get it all off. Every time I bath him I gently scrubbed his cradle cap for about a min or two, he thought it was funny and in the end it was just hanging in his hair and I picked it out.

I hand him over to my mum, and she gently combs it, and loads comes off. I was worried that this was too rough, but seeing as he laughs while she does it I guess it's ok!

He had it realyl bad, and it's almost all gone now. I tried dentinox before and it made his scalp really red and sore.

Matthew's has just came back :dohh: Only a teeny bit though but I use boots own brand baby oil (says suitable for cradle cap on it) And its worked a treat before. Just really let it soak in overnight then brush out then wash in the mornings :flower:
