okay so call me crazy but Hannah really enjoyed dying Easter eggs and did a lot better than we thought she would. So I'm trying to think of other crafts/artsy projects we could do with her. The only thing I've thought of so far is painting (hubby wasn't keen on this idea though ). Any other ideas/suggestions?

We do painting alot, it's great fun!! Especially putting it on her hands, she gets amazed when they leave a mark on the paper!!

Not sure what it's called but the water painting where you put water on the paper and it changes colour like paint but without the mess.

I don't have any suggestions now, but wanted to ask if anyone caught Jon & Kate Plus 8 when the kids were painting? It was sooo cute!

I use to be a nursery nurse so have lots of ideas but mostly messy, however just put old clothes on Hannah (and you) newspaper over your table and a splash matt on the floor and your away.

We do different texture play with food (not crafty but still fun) we did this with jelly, cornflakes etc they learn and eat lol. For cheap but lovely presents go to a supermarket and get a value plate (not glossy), some paint from an early years shop (make sure it says washable), paint Hannah's hand and print it on (great little thing for you as a reminder of how little her hands were once too), write Happy Birthday..... at the top date the bottom, fab, relatives love it.

Will be back with more when I can remember what else x

We use the 18m+ washable paints, I assume they're just 18m+ because younger babies are more likely to eat them or something? We have used 3yr+ paints before too though, she's fine!

She likes playing with big feathers and stuff too. She helped me make easter cards for family with a big smudgey Caitlyn hand print inside! Wish I'd taken pics now!

I was going to suggest that as well. At least then the worst you'd have to clean up is water. :)
