Ugh, I don't know what to do. My baby girl slept in a rock n play when she was a newborn, and she slept awesome. At about a month, I transitioned her to a crib in our room so that she wouldn't get too attached to the RnP b/c I know from experience with my son that they grow out of them quick. Her sleep has gone to pot over the last 3 months and she's pretty much up every hour/2 hours all night long. I thought, what the heck, let's see how she does back in the RnP, and she has slept through the night 3 nights in a row now in it. Which is obviously AWESOME. But she's already 5 months??? Do I let her get used to it again, only to know that in another month or 2 I'll have to once again go through the hell of transitioning her back to the crib!? Do they make these things in toddler sizes?? :dohh::dohh::dohh:

I have no idea what a rock and play is, but if she still fits then I would personally let her use it. I'm all for whatever works for whatever stage!

I think a rock and play is like a Moses basket isn't it but more modern and rocks?! And I think a crib is the same as a cot (sorry different terms in uk!) for my little one moving from the Moses basket to a cot was too much, I think there was too much space if I am honest and here was used to being in a more confined space of a basket. We then bought a crib which looks just like a cot but is much smaller from kiddiecare, we then added breathable bumpers around the bars so it looked a bit like the inside of the basket and he settled into that jo problem. It was only used for two months before he got too big for that and had to go into the cot but by then he was used to the surroundings so the transition into the cot was no problem, we used the same breathable bumper and he loved having more space. Maybe worth a try too?

I don't really have advice but am kind of in a similar situation. My son is 3 months old. He sleeps great in RnP. I bought him a bedside crib so he could stay in my room for awhile longer but as soon as you put him in it he wakes up. Like 5 seconds after putting him down his eyes open. he needs to get used to a crib as he starts daycare in January and they can only sleep in a crib. He will wake up instantly when he is put down in crib so he won't get any sleep all day. I'm not sure what to do ether.

Are you putting your baby down an a deep sleep? If not maybe give it a try

We tried to create the things my DS loved about the rnp in his crib when we did the transition at around 3 months. We put a wedge under the mattress to elevate it so it was at a similar angle to the rnp. We rolled up a towel in a u shape underneath of the crib sheet to cradle his body. We made sure that the towel was short enough where only his body rested in it and his face was above the ends of it if that makes sense. That gave him the same comfort that the sides of the rnp did and helped him feel more secure. As he got used to it, we removed the U shaped towel first and the wedge second and now he sleeps fine in his crib. :)
